The statement he makes is quite philosophical about learning from history, even when we are still in it, not just studying with no one living who was there. With a son in his third deployment and a teen in the sixties with friend's names on the Wall, this one sort of hit me in the middle when I first heard it some time ago...near the start of what has turned out to be a very long war. Somehow, my previous downloaded copy disappeared in the switch to a new computer. Amazon's download process works very well.
