This review is from: Deja Vu (Audio CD)
After years of semi-confinment in Mendoza, David shake off some ghosts doing a double album acoustic live with Pedro Aznar, were his bluess and Aznar virtuosity remainded everyone why they were chosen to be with Charly en Seru Giran, this time around David stand alone.

Not really,we have his son also joining on the drums and sharing some writing credits as well, he revisted a track from Seru, "Viernes 3 am", a big risk for evryone but not for David, it settles like a nice clossing of a very hearfelt bluessy album, with some grits ,impecable guitars solos, and his voice, that voice, that is masculine, powerfull, even in the falsettos, like nobody elses do it in Argentina. This album is a return to his bluess roots, like his first album "David Lebon" 35 years ago...

The first single "Sonalo como vos queres" uses a banjo for good effect, an uplifting and nice number ,"Daja Vu","No quiero encerrarme" and "Buenos Aires blues" deal with personal demons, on a rythm & blues way, while the rockers "Y asi es tu amor","En una hora" and"Dejenos vivr" hit hard on the right places, they sound like the band is playing live, and if am not wrong David vocals sounded as recorded from a first take, giving a more intimate and live feeling.

Hilda Lizarazu bring some vocals on "Sos mi oasis", "En mi vida", "Tigre y dragon" ,we found them on a romantic vein, like only David can do it.

A big return from a Great Maestro!

Si sos un lebonico o no, comprate este album ya ,donde tenes rock, blues ,baladas y esa voice como nadie tiene en Argentina, y sus guitarrazos del cielo, el Ruso esta de vuelta y hay que celebrar, el retorno de un Grande.
