I do love diners. You know how those special ones have an incredibly unique character that makes them gems--or some special dish that's uniquely theirs--and, also, I think of all the profound experiences I have had in diners: conversations with some extraordinary person I never expected to meet, overhearing extraordinary conversations.... "Deja Vu Diner" is like this. The poems explore the whole gamut of human experience: how the extraordinary is discovered by doing the ordinary everyday.
