Manufacturer Description

The dreary night hung over the city like a wet wool blanket. I trudged through the empty streets, my brain ticking like the engine block on an ancient Model T chugging through the desert -- overheated and on the verge of cracking. I was a blind man lost in a mental catacomb of dead ends. I needed a break, but the only breaks I seemed to find involved plaster casts and doctors. Walking through the building lobby, I glanced at the rickety elevator. Considering my latest turn of luck, I opted for the stairs. The light was on in my office, which was strange since I had not paid my power bill in over a month. Fumbling for my keys, I stared at the chipped paint on the words "Ace Harding, Private Detective," wondering how long I could afford to keep the business. If I had blinked, I would have missed the shadow flickering across the frosted glass inside my office. I unsnapped my leather holster and leaned back against the wall. Perhaps this time -- just for once -- lady luck would give me a nod and a smile.

I am a fan of the PC version, and was pleased to see this available! You have 3 different saves and can start a new game without losing the old one. The interface is similar to Shadowgate Classic for GBC and the music sets the right mood for its time period. It has a lot of red herrings (false clues, etc) and danger looms around every corner. This game will keep you on your toes; the instant you complete part 1, you go into part 2 into more danger and mystery! If graphic adventures are to your liking, you will love Deja Vu I and II.

3.0 out of 5 stars Who wants to be a Detective?, March 7, 2000

It's not a game to be going all crazy about, but It's fun to play. Yes, the graphics are great, I have to give em credit for that. But, you're pretty much running all over the place, and the sense of humor is there. But, ya gotta keep a sharp head and think straight, eventhough you have amnesia which allows your physical ability to be at a minimal. For you thinkers out there with a sharp head, this game would be for you. It's fun and interesting. You also have the ability to carry many things you need and discard things you don't need. This game will keep you going for you money. Try it out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great puzzle game, June 11, 2000

This game is modeled after the classic still-interface games from the 80's in which you use one word commands to interact with the environment (look, use, take, open, close, talk, hit, and leave) The game takes place in Chicago/ Las Vegas in the 30's and is very nostalgic and fun at the same time. You basically pick up items and try to piece together clues in order to figure out what happened. It is quite challenging. If you have never played it before and you enjoy these style games, you should definately buy it. Another similar game by the same company which takes place in Midevil times is Shadowgate. If you like Deja Vu you will like Shadowgate, and vice versa.
