I can say that Carla Morrison has one of the most unique beautiful voices that just keeps you glued to every song.. The songs are so beautifully written and engaging, but at the same time it had me wanting to cry and I didn't know why.. All I know is that after listening to the album 2 times straight, I wanted to go pick up a bottle of Tequila and just cry myself to sleep.. lol
I am in complete agreement with many of the others. My understanding of the language is minimal. Having said that, with music that's this good, it's not as important for me to know the lyrics as it is to feel the words expressed. What a great new talent.
I was first introduced to Carla Morrison in my Level 1 Spanish class and fell in love with her immediately. She has a great voice that envokes a lot of emotion and feeling. I like that her lyrics are simple yet effective so non-native or fluent speakers can get even the jist of a song without knowing complex Spanish. This album follows in her indie folk tradition with a lot of relaxing songs. My favorite us "Tu Orgullo". Highly recommended!
How I found her I don't remember but I am so glad that I did. She has an amazing voice and this album is definitely her best one. If you have not heard Carla Morrison you are missing out! I hope one day she releases and album in English because the few songs that I have heard her sing in English to me sound even better than her Spanish stuff.
I love this album! I have not been able to stop listening it since I purchased it. Every single one of the songs on this album is unique, complex, and very beautiful. I really enjoyed her prior album, this one, I LOVE!! It's my favorite album of the year so far!
Morrison's voice is unique and soulful, and her music crosses genres as well as geographic boundaries. I heard the title song originally on NPR, and I'm so glad I looked into the album - it's quite enjoyable.
