I bought one of these and liked it so immediately turned around and ordered a second one for back up. I tried an expensive one and it was just a hundred dollar piece of crud. I gave it back to Office Depot and ordered one of these. It works just fine and if it lasts a few months I'll be ok with that. The fit was a little loose but all you have to do is adjust the contacts in the plug and that problem is solved. I had similar problems with the expensive unit also. My only advice concerning these two purchases is not to waste your money on the expedited shipping. I paid almost as much on the shipping on the first one as I paid for the second one. They are prompt and get it out to you ASAP so for almost 15 dollars difference I got it about one day faster. I was pretty cranky about this but it is not them, rather the shipping companies.

I dont know why the original adapter burn down but since that moment, I bought like six other replacements and everyone of them got burned or broke down. This is the only one that held on to my laptop. You have to be pretty sure that the adapter is compatible with your laptop model and series.

You get what you pay for. It is rather inexpensive because it won't last. I've had it for 2 months, and it no longer works. Also, it caused interferences with the cursor, in which I couldn't use the cursor while being plugged in. I ended up buying the Targus brand next; but it's too early to tell on that one.
