Amsterdam=criminal? Lucky for us!, June 20, 2000
This review is from: Dekok and the Begging Death (Dekok Mystery Series) (Paperback)
Since I recently moved to Amsterdam and I always loved to read criminal stories, Baantjer still stands on number one of my booklist. Witty, without useless points or statements that make the story unclear, it's easy and entertaining to read. His stories always give you the feeling "it may have happened like that". Yet the police work is not that realistic of course (but hey, on which series or in which book you see the 50 per cent paper work of the job?) - but that's the only downside of this book. This book definitely is one of the better ones, and again has "a story behind the story"! (If you read Baantjer you know what I mean, if you haven't, please do, you won't be disappointed!)
