5.0 out of 5 stars oldies but goodies of the delfonics is one of my favorites
I am a big fan of the Delfonics. I grew up with there music as well as other artists in that time. They make beautiful melody music. Anyone would love there original music, they make wonderful love songs and have great voices, voices that no one could copy because they have their own original style in music and lyrics. They are one of the best classic group I know and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Be Careful!!
this is not a remaster of the old hits. it is the old guys trying to recreate some of their hits and it doesn't work at all. they really can't reach the notes and the harmony is way off. don't buy this cd!!! if you went to a country fair that said the delfonics will be there, this cd is what you will hear.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love Songs Revisited, September 17, 2002
This review is from: Delfonics - Greatest Hits & More (Audio CD)
William Hart leads his buddies Randy Cain and Major Harris through re-recordings of six of the biggest hits of their heyday,
plus four new songs. William can no longer reach for those glass-
shattering high notes. But he does a good job with what he has left. I guess I am trying to say that while his tone may not be what it once was, William's experience shows, and it sees him through these performances. I wish I could say that Randy's and Major's background vocals hold up their end. Major, in particular, seems to have nothing left of the tenor that made his big solo hit, "Love Won't Let Me Wait," an international sensation. The new material sounds okay, but nothing really grabbed me. I am not usually into purchasing re-recordings (at least not knowingly). In the case of this CD, I knew what I was getting into. Frankly, I was just curious about how the group sounds today. In a San Diego performance about 3 years ago, Randy and Major were fronted by someone who was NOT William Hart. It may not be the vintage Delfonics harmony any more, but I was glad to hear William Hart again, singing in his maturity.

5.0 out of 5 stars You're In Store For A Wonderful Trip....., December 25, 2004
This review is from: Delfonics - Greatest Hits & More (Audio CD)
We all know how certain songs and types of music can evoke memories in the heart and mind. This magnificent CD transferred me back to the days when life was an exciting journey and I discovered love for the first time. I have always, always LOVED The Delfonics and listened to them endlessly during my youth in Brooklyn, NY in the 70s. The track "I Gave To You" has been hard to find along with "Baby I Love You". The vocals are as perfect and precise as if the group was performing live in your living room. I'm thrilled beyond words to finally see a CD that includes both. If you're a true fan of this awesome group, you'll HAVE to include this CD in your collection. I guarantee you won't be dissappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Can't Knock A Guy (or Group) For Trying!, December 2, 2005
This review is from: Delfonics - Greatest Hits & More (Audio CD)
The Delfonic's Thom Bell produced, Philly Groove label sounds are decades long since passed here. If seeking to hear that level of great music, one must seek elsewhere. That being said, as a Delfonics fan, the purchase of this cd was a foregone conclusion. I found it interesting enough not to discard. It would be nice to see if there could be a "reunion" album produced by Thom Bell, using real piano, drums, etc. William has enough left to help pull it off.

4.0 out of 5 stars Timeless Perfection-The delfonics, May 22, 2002

This review is from: Delfonics - Greatest Hits & More (Audio CD)
I have been a Delfonic fan since the 1970's when I first saw them at the Howard Theater in Washington,D.C. They have been and always will be my all-time favorite group. About a year ago, I had the unique opportunity to see them LIVE in concert in Orlando,Florida. I actually got pictures with them backstage and spoke with William Hart on the phone prior to the concert. -Although the new album is a remix, the Delfonics fit the call for this time in their career. The album is a compilation of wisdom from the years. It would be a great addition to any vintage collection.
