Book Description

December 1, 1999
Delias How to Cook: Book Two continues Delia's simple-to-follow teaching course for people of all ages and abilities. With her unique powers of communication, Delia removes the fear and mystique from cooking both the simplest and the more advanced dishes. For those who have mastered the techniques and for those who are already accomplished cooks, How to Cook: Book Two contains 120 new recipes, from Roast Lamb in a Shrewsbury Sauce to Fresh Pecan and Almond Crumble. The book and television series feature the following ten sections: The Store Cupboard; Fish; Meat; Poultry; Vegetables; Salads; Dairy Produce; Fruit; Cheese; and Chocolate. How to Cook is a complete guide to cookery for the 21st century. Delia shares not only her vast experience but also her extensive knowledge of English cooks, such as Eliza Acton. This tradition is combined with the latest advances and innovations in cooking during the last 20 years.

About the Author

Delia Smith is Britain's bestselling cookery writer, whose books have sold over 21 million copies worldwide. Delia's first job as a cookery writer was for the Daily Mirror in 1969 - numerous phenomenal best sellers and television series followed including Delia Smith's Complete Cookery Course in 1978 and Delia's Christmas, Summer & Winter Collections in the 1990s. Towards the end of the decade Delia commenced work on a new major project - Delia's How to Cook, publishing three separate volumes and the accompanying tv series. The Vegetarian Collection and The Delia Collection followed. After a five year break concentrating on Norwich City Football Club (where she is a director) and Canary Catering, Delia returned triumphant in 2008 with a new BBC TV series and the fastest selling cookery book of all time 'Delia's How to Cheat at Cooking' - which has sold over 800,000 copies to date. Delia is married to the writer and editor, Michael Wynn Jones. They live in Suffolk.

Another gourmet winner for Delia!

Here is the second in a series of three cook books where you can't go wrong, and you do not have to slave over a hot stove all day to present a wonderful meal.

Informative: so you have background knowledge on the whys and wherefores of why you are using this, and how to do that.

Standardised proceedures: ingredients are clearly listed and subdivided where necessary.

Brilliantly simple recipes such as Roasted Fish with a Parmesan Crust or Oven Fried Onions - why hadn't I thought of that!

Delicious standards, Salade Nicoise, Shepherds Pie - note it's made with minced lamb, hence the name. A chicken stir-fry made different by the addition of coconut.

Exquisite, so simple deserts, in Eton Mess or Toffee-Fudge Bananas with Toasted Nuts. You can even present the good and the bad together in Chocolate and Prune Brownies!

Whether you are inexperienced or a pro these recipes work and the bonus is they are delightfully delectable.

There is a lovely book w/Miss.Delia Smith smiling out at me. I "feel" that Comfort. If follow this Doyenne of the Kitchen,I Never go wrong.Inspires every step of the recipe,I have choosen to help prepare that Day.I Believe We All have Someone looking over Our Shoulders.Plus, our "instincts" of what is ok and what 'feels' a bit "off".I have continued to reach out to Miss.Smith because of Success in the Past.I collect and peruse recipes because of Personal Allergies.Cannot have a Meal Out with Hunny. So,He gets bored and I try to find a Recipe He Adores the complimentary Flavours.Who knew Goat Chesse and Honey taste Divine? I never knew until found out.As long as Soy is put into Everything and Seafood is in polluted Waters this is My Life and therefore Hunny's Life too. This Titled Book is a continued Effort by Miss.Delia Smith.I hope You find lovely recipes and receive Accolades as She certainly would Wish/Hope for You.Just as I do as well.{The book is stunningly Beautiful and Subtle. Please do not allow to deceive You.Wealth of Knowledge between the pages}.
