Book Description

December 5, 2010
If Chelsea Handler were armed with a fork and a champagne flute, then she would sound something like this. Delicious Dating is not your run of the salt mill dating book. It's side-splittingly funny and unapologetically saucy. After splitting from a boyfriend with the romantic skills and dietary habits of Homer Simpson, this self-confessed manthropologist goes in search of men who don't think courtship consists of a kebab and a keg of beer. And, in the same vein, know a clitoris from a cantaloupe. After a love life as disastrous as it was dyspeptic, Babe has a hunch that the best way to tell how a man is in bed and beyond is in how he seduces a woman's palate. So begins her culinary crusade dining with 100 men and also interviewing 200 more men and women about a man's eating habits and what they spell for his erotic potential.

Babe's dining adventures take her from the sublime to the radicchioless as she lunches with the Naked Cowboy, eats squid livers and sautéed silkworms, dives in dumpsters with a freegan and gets flown to Las Vegas to dine at the famous Picasso. She discovers that you can tell what flavor of guy he is from what a date serves up at the dinner table, even coining ten Male Dining Types to help women codify men from their menus. This culinary Carrie Bradshaw skewers, slices and dices her way to finding that seduction does truly begin at the dinner table.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a dating book worth reading! December 16, 2010
Format:Paperback
So many dating books make you feel worse about yourself by the time you've finished reading only the first half. This one takes a different approach. It doesn't tell you all the things you have to change about yourself to attract a man. Instead it shows you how to choose a man who's right for you. And in a fun way, too! I mean, who doesn't like to eat? And who knew you could tell so much about a guy over a single meal? I can see clearly now that I have been settling far too often for Gourmet Gigolos when what I really wanted was a Food Sensualist. It was a revelation! Armed with this new insight about myself and about men and dating in general, I can't wait to get back out there and test it out...

2.0 out of 5 stars Men are more than what they eat February 11, 2011
By R.J.
Format:Paperback
The women who approve of this book with the anecdotal research are the same ones who find themselves forever frustrated and lonely. I think it is far interesting and funny if women use this book as a map to find a mate, only to find that the perfect man is not heterosexual. I can be a food snob too. I enjoy traveling to Paris and sampling great cuisine, or eating my veggies at home, but please don't touch my cheese curls or Frito's ! I have obtained a graduate degree, love to play any sport and I am a former college athlete, therapist, and romantic. I love taking long walks -to my local convenience store- and sharing McDonald's fries with my mate. I would love to meet a woman who will look beyond my questionable eating habits and see the wounded and hungry child within me. Please get to know me, before you reject me due to my habits.
