"Thanks Jennifer for all those wonderliscious recipes. Being a french chef I often used them at work and at home with the greatest pleasure! Make more soon!!! Cordially, Isabelle

From the Author

Compiling this book proved to be much more difficult that I was expecting. I've been cooking for pretty much as long as I can remember and have been collecting recipes for most of that time. (Both my daughters already do the same thing - they each started their own recipe collection aged about 10.)

Because I've collected recipes for so long I have literally thousands of them! They're in books, files, boxes, spilling off bookshelves and peeping out from behind the bread bin in the kitchen!

Putting this book together actually started out as a result of me finally deciding to try and put all my recipes in some sort of logical order. It was to be a big 'tidy up' operation. One day I thought it would be fun just to put together my absolute favorites into a collection I'd be proud to share with my friends. And that's how the idea for this book was born.

But a big problem soon reared its head - I just have so many recipes that it was going to be a huge task and I wasn't sure how I could ever accomplish it all. A good friend gave me some very valuable advice and suggested I just break it up into little chunks and tackle it one small stage at a time. So that's what I did. If you like what you see please feel free to have a look through my other titles - I hope you'll find them every bit as scrumptious!

As I say in the book's Introduction, above all I want you to have fun with these recipes. They're simple to make and they really do taste delicious. Over the years I've served them up to plenty of  different people who feel the same way, but don't just take our word for it - try them for yourself and see.

(By the way, I plan to release more recipe books in the future. I like to get real warts-and-all feedback before publishing and to do that I give away free copies of each new title. Would you be interested in getting one of these free books to review? Once you've bought this book you'll see full details in the chapter headed 'How To Get Free Recipes And Cooking Tips.)

More About the Author

Jennifer Roberts has been cooking all her life. Born in 1965 she has fond childhood memories of standing on a chair in her Grandmother's kitchen as her official Spoon Licker. She soon graduated to making cookies and little jam pies from leftover ends of pastry.

Home life always revolved around the kitchen. Both her Grandmother and Mother were wonderful cooks and it seemed the most natural thing in the world for Jennifer to follow in their footsteps. By the time she was 9, under Mom's quiet guidance and encouragement, she was making one meal a week for the whole family.

At 12 she'd lost the novice's fear of having to religiously follow a set recipe, and was confidently experimenting on her own. Some of those early experiments were not particularly successful! But her Mom was never disparaging; on the contrary she was always encouraging Jennifer to keep experimenting.

On wet days after school Jennifer could nearly always be found singing to herself in the kitchen with her apron on and her hands in a mixing bowl.

And that love of cooking has never left her. She's now married with 2 daughters - Megan and Jasmine - both of whom, from as soon as they could stand, would be on a chair beside her in the kitchen fulfilling their own official Spoon Licking duties. And like Jennifer, they too have grown up helping their Mother and Grandmother preparing glorious dishes for the whole family.

The wheel is turning full circle...

I've tried most of these recipes now and loved them. Hard to say which were my stand out favorites, but I think it would probably be between the Sticky Toffee Pudding (which was absolutely fabulous) and Tiramisu To Die For (which is exactly that - to die for!).

But for sheer speed and ease of preparation my vote goes to the Banoffee Pie. I've done this several times now. It tastes great and I reckon now I know what I'm doing I can put it together in about 90 seconds lol.

I'm a big chocolate fan - as are my children - and all of us love the Chocolate Salami (weird name but don't let that put you off), Chocolate Fondant and Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream. Not sure which of the 3 I enjoyed most. Let's see, I might just have to go try them all again to find out... Being a food critic's tough but hey, someone's gotta do it!!

Seriously though, this a great book. Most of these recipes were completely new to me, they're easy to put together with clear instructions and I liked the author's writing style. She gives lots of suggestions of how to change the recipes slightly if you want variety or maybe can't get ahold of some of the ingredients. I found that helpful.

Best of all, these desserts taste terrific. I've tried nearly all of them and haven't yet had one I didn't like. I was pleased to see the author has more dessert books in the same series so I guess I'll proably get the next book as well.

I just couldn't resist this after looking at the mouth watering pictures on the cover. The recipes are relatively simple, as advertised. Normally I won't read a recipe book that has units that need conversion. I made an exception for this one. It is still a nuiscance to have to convert from UK units to US units, at least he included a conversion chart. That was helpful. I love smoothies, so the Honey And Banana Smoothie was the first one I tried. Yup, yummy. I look forward to trying more. I just wish there were more than (only) 17 recipes in the book. That is a little scant.

This book has a wide variety of different recipes, from Chocolate Salami to Spicy Ricotta and Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream.
My favourite though is the sticky toffee pudding. Yum!

This book contained a number of hallmarks of quality.

A number of delicious recipes and great tips were included. It was nicely formatted and had a usable table of contents. It is also clearly written by someone that is real and has created these items and reasons were given for the selections. A handy conversion guide for US and European and an explanation of the differences between ingredients used in American and European cooking. Being from Australia, the US terms aren't that familar so I definitely appreciate the extra effort the author went to for others out there like me. 5 stars.

First this book is very well-written and there's just the right amount of humor. I found myself liking Jennifer. Secondly, this book has dessert recipes I've never seen before: (Chocolate Salami, Banoffee Pie,Fruit Fool,Peach Filo Chiffon Pie,Peach Filo Chiffon Pie and more.) The recipes are clearly written and easy to follow. There are some nice pictures as well. I'm happy I bought this book!

Wow these recipes are amazing- the chocolate salami is gorgeous but be warned. It is so wicked you will want more and more.

You can easily make changes too and it doesnt affect the results. I used blueberries in the apple cobbler as I am not a fan of Rasberries and it was delicious.

I have never been able to make Tiramasu - UNTIL now. The recipe is really easy to follow and the results were amazing. This book is worth it just for that.

Seriously try these recipes and you wont be sorry.
