The Duprees, the Mike Kelly years, June 22, 2008

This CD was recorded for the most part, in the late 60's and features Mike Kelly as lead singer, the second lead singer for the original early 60's doo wop group, the Duprees. He (Mike)has a gorgeous voice...and should have, in my opinion, re-recorded the Dupree hits of the early 60's, so that his fans could have them today, but unfortunately he didn't. But, he and the Duprees found their own style in this collection of songs...The songs are not doo wop, but nevertheless, some great love songs still here, including one of the greatest songs (imo) recorded by the Duprees -- My Love, My Love. If you are a Dupree fan, you already know this ...if you are not yet a Dupree fan...buy all their CD's, this one and the early great hits, made famous by lead singer Joey Vann. Their sound and their harmonies are wonderful!! Very talented boys.. I love 'em.
