I have had stomach issues for a long time, and food allergies. I absolutely love this cookbook and all the delicious recipes that have helped me with these issues and have given me a ton of energy. I feel so much better. The healthy recipes are easy and the smoothies are the best ever!!! They make for a quick meal before I head out the door in the morning or a great snack. I would highly recommend this cookbook for all your loved ones and yourself. Watch and see how much better you will feel inside and out!

Someone who really loves me & cares about me made sure I got my own personal copy of this book because it provides wonderful, tasty recipes that are good for me & delicious too! It contains so much healthful, useful information for eating & living well. But even though it's all good for you, everything is enjoyable & not difficult. What a fantastic combination of delicious & fun but healthy!

Deliciously Holistic is a very comprehensive guide and reference book for those wishing to eat better. Recipes, recommendations, care and preparation, and more are included in the book. Also included are the items you'll need (kitchen utensils and machines) to help prepare your holistic foods. This really is a one-stop bible for better eating.

The goal of the book is better health/more energy. That focus includes foods that provide the body with healthy probiotics and enzymes as well as immunity. And foods that will help digestion and absorption of the nutrients.

To keep the food as fresh as possible, the menu is broken down by season. A sample fall menu, for example, will include items such as a rainbow chard omelet for breakfast, portobello mushroom and grilled onion burger with coconut soup for lunch, and aruga comice pear salad and wild halibut for dinner. While some of the items are definitely exotic, and there is a stress on eating/drinking greens, there is a lot of variety in the menu ideas.

The book is really more than recipes and definitely doesn't feel like a lecture. Within each recipe is a description of why that item is in there and what it will do in combination with the other recipes or menus. Storage and keep are included as well. The author leaves no stone unturned to ensure the reader has all questions answered.

There are several plans and options, whether one has a busy lifestyle or not. I was very impressed with how thoroughly the book is researched and written. It's so important why you want to eat the items and to intellectually understand the benefits. And since there aren't that many wild or crazy recipes - it's really just about eating the right foods with the right foods to maximize physiological benefits.

Love this book! I've followed Shelley's blog for a while, but this book is a welcome extension to the online info. Whether you're already into a whole food lifestyle, or trying to sort out all the information, this is a great go-to book. Many of the recipes use the same basic ingredients, but there's so much variety, you want to try all of them. I already had many of the recipe ingredients, but they lend themselves well to experimenting by trying different flavors and combinations. It dispels any myths that healthy holistic eating is only about tasteless dishes. And the type is large enough to be read easily! This book is well worth the price and then some; highly recommended.
