3.0 out of 5 stars Steamy....
If you like steamy sexual tension without much plot in between, this book definitely fits the bill. Three quarters of it is sexually explicit and very hot. I would have liked a stronger story line, but my biggest complaint is in the editing. I don't know if it was strictly the Kindle version, but it was poorly edited. Many times, there was no change of paragraph for...

5.0 out of 5 stars What's Love Gotta Do With It?, October 13, 2006
This review is from: A Delight Before Christmas (Noire Passion) (Paperback)
Berlin Dupree has been able to check off eight items on her ten item life agenda. All that is left to do is marry a doctor and start a family. She has her eyes on Dr. Cameron Clark and when she finds out he is playing Santa Claus at the clinic's Christmas party, she sets her plan to snare the doctor in motion. Contractor Reginald (Reggie) Hodges has been hired to paint the medical clinic. He would like to get to know a certain administrator at the clinic, but she barely gives him the time of day. As a huge favor to his good friend, Dr. Clark, he fills in as Santa Claus at the clinic`s Christmas Party. When Berlin sees Santa standing under the mistletoe, she walks over and gives him a big, toe curling, spine tingling kiss. Reggie`s instincts take over and he walks her into a private place and the kiss goes beyond what Berlin could imagine. To her horror and Reggie's delight, she finds out she is kissing the wrong man and this is just the beginning of Angie Daniel's highly erotic and sexually explicit romance, A Delight Before Christmas.

Berlin cannot forget the feel of Reggie's lips on her lips, and his magical fingers that massaged her breast and other parts. However, she has an agenda and nothing will stop her from marrying a doctor. Reggie is determined to break her down, sneaking kisses and bringing her pleasure whenever the opportunity presents itself. When Berlin's parents announce their intentions to spend Christmas with her, Berlin is forced to hire Reggie to help her finish painting her home. Being in such close proximity the heat between Berlin and Reggie intensifies and they both find it hard to resist each other.

Angie Daniels writes a romance that includes the usual merry-go-round of resistance. However, this book was hot! hot! hot! The passion and sexual tension between the characters was very well depicted, as was the ambivalent feelings that came from Berlin. This is the first time I have read Angie Daniels or a book from Noire Passion, but it will not be the last.

Reginald "Reggie" Hodges is 35 years old and owns his own company unbeknownest to Berlin Dupree who is determined to follow her ten-step plan that would eventually lead to her marrying a wealthy man and settling down. While painting in the clinic where Berlin worked, Reginald was determined to make Berlin notice him but she has her eyes set on Reggie's doctor friend, Cameron. A daring move by Berlin at the office Christmas party sets things in motion that will heat up every encounter with Reggie past Christmas. Berlin tries all she can to resist, but the baggy jean, Timberland wearing Reggie has all the right moves.

Thank you, Ms Daniels, for such a delight before Christmas and creating Reginald Hodges; kudos to the publisher for the cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh my!, December 31, 2006
This review is from: A Delight Before Christmas (Noire Passion) (Paperback)
Ok so this was my delight after christmas lol! This book was hot hot hot hoooooooot! You'll need a fan, glass of water and your man near by! :)Reggie was no joke what so ever! Also I was cracking up in the book as well. The storyline of not judging a book by it's cover was very realistic and how women create lists of what they "think" want out of a man and life. Definite recommendation!

4.0 out of 5 stars Berlin formed a ten-step plan that consists of important matters., December 8, 2006

This review is from: A Delight Before Christmas (Noire Passion) (Paperback)
Eight- Marry a doctor. Nine-Start a family. Ten- Retire and relocate to Florida. Is she a step closer in accomplishing her task?

Maybe, but reading this book gave me all the answer I needed to know. From the beginning of this book you have discovered that a mistaken identity on Santa's lap has done a number on Berlin that turn out to be a necessity in her life. Berlin wont settle for anything less no matter how good Reginald makes her feel while she pursues a doctor (Reginald friend) who she thinks is her lottery ticket, even though her best friend Arianna is determined to prove to her that Reginald is the better man for her life.

"A Delight Before Christmas" doesn't consist of a hefty plot or a lot of drama but the heat between Reginald and Berlin carries the story right along. Throughout this story Ms. Daniels does a wonderful job of developing the chemistry between these two main characters but not so for the secondary characters who all seem one dimensional to me. Berlin puts up enough resistance to put on a good chase but not so much that you become frustrated. The sex scenes throughout this book are warm and sensual just in time for the holidays. I must say that I was very excited to get my hand on this book even though it took me a little bit longer to pick it up, but I was able to read it all in one day.

Ms. Daniels proves to be consisted in what she does and also provides an easy steady pace in her storyline. For those of you who know her this is a must read and for those who are just curious I recommend on grabbing a copy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A New Fan!!, March 10, 2007
This review is from: A Delight Before Christmas (Noire Passion) (Paperback)
This is the first book I've read by Angie Daniels and I didn't want to put it down! I liked it so much that I just purchased three more of her books from Amazon and can't wait to read them. It was steamy just like I like my books for those of you who like a lot of sensuality to go with your romance. Aside from a few dialogue fitting the personality kinks, this book was great!

This book would be a "DELIGHT" before, during and after Christmas. Reggie was one for the romance history books. I will never look at a painter the same way again. It will be very difficult to enjoy a piece of sweet potato pie without thinking about Reggie and Berlin. I can guarantee you that if you have the opportunity to read this book you will not be disappointed.

Ok, Miss Daniels, Merry Christmas to me. I loved this story. It moved quickly and it was to the point. My first time reading one of your novels, and I loved it. I wanted to slap Berlin and sometimes kick Reginald. Miss Daniels wrote a down-home romance novel that got to the heart of the matter -- women who are looking for love in the wrong people. The passion between the characters was very well depicted. Well-written.
