5.0 out of 5 stars Heartbreaking memoir, January 2, 2011

This review is from: Deliver Me from Evil: A Sadistic Foster Mother, A Childhood Torn Apart (Paperback)
I purchased this book for my Kindle and couldn't stop reading it. It was hard to keep reading sometimes, hearing about the cruelty that the children were subjected to and the emotional pain that the author suffered. But I couldn't put it down. It's heartbreaking that this is still happening, and I was surprised at how many people had suspected and reported the abuse, yet nothing was done for years. The only thing that made it easier to accept (if you can call it that) is knowing that she survived and her foster mother was punished, and learning that the author has used her awful experiences to ensure that her "mother" can never do this again.

I am so sad that this dear woman suffered so much for so long. I can only hope and pray she has found true joy and everlasting peace and has been able to heal. It's hard to read this book and consider what all these children endured. My prayers are with them all.

This book had me crying. Very well written. I can't believe a human being went through that hell and came out of it alive.

This book is great; just can't put it down. I would recommend it to anyone who likes stories of adversity and triumph. I'm not quite done with it; can't wait to find out what happens to Eunice. I sure hope she gets what's coming to her.

I read the whole book and I felt so bad for that little girl and the rest of the kids in that foster mother's care. Definitely a great book.
