I saw these guys open for Beck back around '95 and was blown away. This album is a classic; albiet one that hardly any one knows about. It should have been huge. Still one of my faves to this day. Unfortunately, the follow up too this album was not so hot and they disbanded after. If you want an album that rocks, this one delivers the goods in spades. Shoot, it's probably really hard to get now. I should try to get one for myself as a backup!

As a previous review indicates, this album is full of songs that are hard to describe. Lyrically, some of the songs are strange or weird. The band is named Lutefisk; weird lyrics should be expected. Sonically, Lutefisk is hard alternative rock, grunge, or something in that genre. Looking at the cheap prices here at Amazon, Lutefisk was apparently too non-mainstream for many people. How non-mainstream? Example: One of the members of Lutefisk used an e-bow on stage; the only other guitarist that I have seen use an e-bow on stage was Helios Creed.
I own a Lutefisk cassette tape entitled "rough approximation of an asymetric bee factor". It has different versions of many of the songs on this album. I wholeheartedly recommend both this CD and that cassette to hear the weird magic that was Lutefisk.

Had this cd for years now. A very exciting style which has to be heard to be understood. Buy it!
