I have been a professional musician for 30 years and I have never been a fanatic over any particular genre, let alone a band, and certainly not a lead singer. Then along came Cecilia Noel and The Wild Clams. I'm such a fan I even wrote the band to encourage them to keep the music coming, and to my surprise I got a reply from Cecilia herself...(thinking about putting it in a nice frame)! This band and their knock-out lead singer generate such energy and excitement you will think you are at a live concert just listening to the CD. Wanna have a good time? One word of advice........BUY EVERY THING THEY HAVE RECORDED, then MAMBO 'til you drop.

I have seen this L.A. Band, and they blow away every audience. She plays twice a month at the Key Club on Sunset Strip. Her 3 girl/singer/dancers are choreographed very well, and are beautifel. Best musicians in L.A.

This album has the feel of being recorded at somebody's party, and what a party it must have been. The couple of live cuts are fantastic. The rest of it's studio, but man, it's all got energy. That Latin sound. There's lots of great brass to dance to, along with some funky flute, and some excellent guitar work. Those Wild Clams are truly amazing musicians.

And Cecilia? She's got a great big voice, and she knows how to use it. Soft or loud, those lilting Latin rhythms are worth listening to all day. Spanish, English, whatever. Te recomiendo que... buy this cd. Try not to dance. Good luck to you.

I probably buy 4-5 CD's a month - very, very few in the salsa/Latin vein. My tastes normally run towards R&B/jazz. With that caveat, let me say that this is one of my favorite CD's from at least the past decade. This woman's got it going on!!! Great tunes, great arrangments, great vocals, great playing. Inspiring and fun. What are you waiting for???

I'll admit that this music is not anything near what I usually listen to... but it is one of the most exciting things I've heard in a long time! Ignoring the obvious vocal talents of Cecilia, the amazing talents of the band seal the deal. The brass section sounds huge, and the bass in the middle register keeps the audio very clear and unmuddled (I don't know how, but it does). Note that they freely shift between Spanish and English in the songs, but the music makes up for what I don't understand... My only complaint is that certain suggestive lyrics (the English ones I can make out) prevent me from sharing all tracks with my young child... That still shouldn't stop anyone from getting this album...

This is the best and most exiciting new music I have in heard in a long time!!!!!! Cecilia Noel is INCREDIBLE as both a vocalist and as a live performer. The Wild Clams are some the best musicans in LA and this CD proves it!!!!!!!!!! Go see her at the Key Club on Sunset Blvd, you'll have the time of your life doing the "Sugar Dance"!!!!

Once or twice a month I squeeze my breasts in public. No, I'm not checking for lumps, and I haven't had anything to drink. (You'll have to listen to "Dip It" to understand.) I'm just caught up in the frenzy that is Cecilia Noël and the Wild Clams.

Her live shows take no prisoners. And somehow the insane energy was captured on this CD. If you can listen and sit still, you deserve some kind of medal.

I got the chance to hear a couple of tracks from this CD and I ended up buying it. If this CD doesn't get your toes tappin' and body shakin' then, in the the words of Joe Jackson, "Jack, you dead!!"
The band is cookin' and Cecilia leads the charge with her energy and great vocals. You don't have to understand Spanish to groove to this disc. My favorite track is CRAZY. An infectious groove indeed! I'd love to see the band perform because I just know they will have the joint jumpin' and everyone working up a sweat. She's the real deal!

This is the best album I've heard in a long time. It prompted me to go see a show and the energy Cecilia has in her album is even better in person! I can't wait for her next one. Truly an artist and very definitely The Queen of Salsoul.

If Cecilia Noel is not a super-star within a year, then there is no justice in the world. Everything everyone says in the other reviews is true. A tip...see her show at a night club venue while you still can. As for this album...every song would be worth the purchase price...astounding, beautiful, and somehow, light, Cecilia's sense of humor is a gift - surprising, humble and touching.
