5.0 out of 5 stars Great for travel
I must say this is one of the best charges on the market. Don't have to worry about the cumbersome powercord. Just plug it in the wall with the flip out prongs. Great for travel and people who don't like to carry more stuff than they have to. A little more pricer compared to others but the quality and performance makes up that downside.

1.0 out of 5 stars bad buy
I used this thing twice and it died. It blinks but does not charge.
It's a paper weight if you leave the dead batteries in it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent quality charger, over-rated batteries, August 28, 2011
This review is from: Delkin Devices DD/AA-QKCHGR-US AA/AAA International Quick Charger with Extended Power 2900mAh Rechargeable AA Batteries (Electronics)
This package (Delkin Devices DD/AA-QKCHGR-US) contains a Delkin International Quick Charger, plus four AA rechargeable NiMH cells rated '2900mAh'.

The charger is actually quite good - electrically, at least. It charges each cell individually, and has a total charging current of 2A. If you insert just one AA cell, it gets the full 2A of current (the back of the charger says 2.1A, but I measured 2A instead). If you put in two cells, each one gets half of the current, or 1A per cell. Similarly, for 3 AA cells it gives 660mA/cell, and 4 cells gives 500mA/cell. For AAA cells, all charging currents are reduced by half.

One nice feature is that each charging channel has its own LED indicator light. That way, you can easily tell which cell has finished charging. All four indicators will blink if there is a problem with one of the cells (such as if you accidentally inserted an alkaline cell into the charger). Then you have to remove one cell at a time, to find out which one is the trouble maker.

Mechanically, there is a problem with the charger: The contact for positive terminal does not provide enough grip for AA cells. So AA cells can easily pop out when you plug in the charger to a wall outlet.

Batteries included in this package, on the other hand, is a big disappointment. The average capacity I measured is only 2500mAh (see my review on Delkin Devices DD/AA-4PK-R29 for details). So despite of the higher price, those so-called '2900mAh' Delkin batteries are no better than other regular NiMH cells (typically rated 2500-2700mAh).

All in all, this is a reasonable package for the money - if you are willing to put up with rapid-self-discharge batteries. Personally, I prefer the Sony Cycle Energy BCG34HRE4KN Quick with Refresh Charger package, which contains a better charger and 4 low-self-discharge batteries.

I bought this to use with an external flash unit for an SLR camera. I chose this unit to charge Low Self Discharge (LSD) cells such as Sanyo Eneloops, but the bundled charger for those does not have the independent channels, LED lights, and other features I was looking for. This Delkin unit features four independent channels, each monitored by its own LED light. Thus, batteries at different levels of charge can be recharged simultaneously, though all cells must be of identical size and chemistry (e.g. dont mix NiMH with NiCD, 2000MaH with 2700MaH.) The plug folds into the body for convenient storage - excellent for travel, plus it accepts up to 220V (used in most countries outside the USA) The packaging claims the charger works as fast as possible without damaging the batteries, but it does not make an specific claims as to charging time or charging rate - my guess is it will charge any cell in less than 4 hours (since the safety cutoff is 5 hours). Once the charger has determined that a cell is fully charged, its LED will turn off and the charger will initiate trickle charge for that cell, but the batteries should not be left charging for more than 2 days. The charger uses Delta V detection to determine full charge, and it will also stop after 5 hours or if the temperature exceeds 55 degrees (Centigrade, I assume). The LED will blink to indicate a bad cell or another fault.

The batteries come pre-charged (at least partially despite that the packaging says they come uncharged) and they work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!, February 6, 2010

I got this charger about 4 months ago and it's worked really well for me. The batteries last for 2 to 3 days for me. I seem to have lost it though at the moment but as far as I know it is still working. I would definitely recommend this charger. The only downside that I saw is that it takes around 8 hours to charge the batteries so keep some spare batteries charged if you're using batteries a lot.

Bought these battery to use with the Nikon L120 camera. Wonderful purchase, as with one charge, these batteries are still going strong after over 400 shots.
(Shots are mostly outdoors with maybe 15-20% indoor with flash.)

Pretty decent, it's easy to charge and the batteries included hold the charge for a decent period of time. Recommended!
