Product Description

Four Slots for CompactFlash Cards, Designed with the professional in mind, the UDMA enabled ImageRouter can concurrently transfer data from up to four CompactFlash cards. Instead of downloading cards one at a time with a single slot reader, all you have to do is load your cards into ImageRouter, start the transfer, and walk away. You don't have to return until you're ready to retouch or print your photographs, High Speed Data Transfer, ImageRouter is a high-speed USB 2.0 reader that can achieve transfer rates of 29 MB/sec read and 27 MB/sec write with four UDMA cards inserted. Connect two ImageRouters together for transfer rates of 27MB/sec read and 25 MB/sec write with more than four cards! Built-In Powered Hub, If you have more than four cards of data to transfer, connect two ImageRouters together, load the additional cards and begin the transfer. ImageRouter has a built-in hub that actually allows you to quickly "daisy-chain" multiple units. Designed to Last: ImageRouter was built for heavy workloads. Its tough, plastic shell makes it the perfect desktop assistant for any serious photographer. The Perfect Combination: ImageRouter can be purchased separately or with BackupandBurn software. BackupandBurn automatically renames files based on user-set parameters. Users can specify how the files are re-named and re-numbered and even have Jpeg and RAW files automatically sent to different folders. Images can also be copied to multiple locations and automatically burned to a CD or DVD.

For years I have struggled with an easy to use card reader. Once set up, this ImageRouter charts the course for downloading heaven.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Shoddy Card Slot Pins, October 25, 2009

This review is from: Delkin Devices DDREADER-40 KIT ImageRouter with Back-Up and Burn Software US (Personal Computers)
Bought this and it worked for a couple of months, but the long vertical pins in each card slot that meet your inserted card bend very easily, even when you are aware of it and try to insert the cards down evenly. I took apart the unit to straighten the bent pins, which worked for a short time, but as we know every time metal bends and bends back it weakens it, so eventually it got so bad I just started to not use the affected slots one by one until there was only one left, which makes this unit pretty useless. I would NOT recommend it until they make more robust mating pins between slot and inserted card. The extra USB slot is nice and didn't present any problems.

I own 2 of these. Its great to come home from a wedding and pop in 8 cards and go to sleep or do something else. I use Photo Mechanic with this and set it to backup to two harddrives. I have no idea of the software included is any good. I just bought it to be able to download 8 CF cards at once and not having to baby sit my computer.
