I had a problem with the screen locking up but updated the BIOS driver through Dell Support Center and have not had one problem, it even runs cooler. I love it and the backlit keyboard is great for low light situations especially if you need to see the keys to type like me. It's fast and the perfect size. I believe if it wasn't for the BIOS snag which can be easily remedied (5 minutes) there would be no complaints against this computer. The fix came out in September of 09 so any computer manufactured after that date should be the best laptop you'll ever own.

The laptop worked fairly quickly out of the box. It is a fairly powerful laptop. We were happy with it until we'd had it for a few weeks, then the laptop wireless started dropping after using it for a short period of time. Once the wireless dropped, it would not reconnect. This happened on many different wireless networks. We contacted Dell support and after upgrading drivers (for a new laptop) and reinstalling the OS, they are supposed to send someone to replace the wireless card. We are going on a week without a working laptop.

I also tried to return the laptop to Dell, but because we had it over 21 days, we could not return it.

I would not recommend this laptop or Dell unless you are fairly sure you won't need quick resolution to problems.

This laptop is nice, and would be great if it worked. Look around the web for other owners who got burned on this brand. Seems to have to major issues 1)Motherboard/Video Card failures and 2)overheating. I seem to get one or the other and support can not help as of yet. Dell Support wants to swap out every component and just keep the case to see if they can get a combination of parts to make a working computer. Finally Dell is sending me some refurbished unit to see if might fail less the one I have. Stay away.... I just bought a Sony and it is very stable.

This is why sometimes is so difficult to buy through internet ...specially pre-orders from Amazon.
The screen is an expensive MIRROR, working outdoors is almost impossible and very VERY uncomfortable.
I hate this screen.
That is the first bad thing about this computer...
The second, Three video ports??? and 2 usb ports???? Why do you need a VGA port a HDMI port AND a Digital video port, was not enough just two of them but another usb????.

The processor is fast enough, but as others reviewers said, battery life is very poor, less than two hours...

Other things are not too bad, but the screen is a scream!!!
Maybe it was design as spy gadget, you seems to be working but you are already watching the life of all the people behind your back!!!

It is a good machine, but i was expecting more because heavy and when I write the keyboard is a little slow and do not write all the letters correctly... when I bought was in doubt between this and vaio, if i buy other i will choose the VAIO.
