Dell 17" LCD Monitor 1708fp LCD

While doing research work at a university I had this 17" monitor at my work station. Set at 1024 x 768 it displays a full web page (L to R ) without having to move your head around the screen. At one time I was given the larger 19" Ultrasharp but returned it to our IT guy. It was not nearly as clear or sharp as the 17". While the 19" does have better specs., I was constantly adjusting it and never did get it right. I ask for the 17" to be returned. Another beauty of this monitor and its larger cousins are the USB ports located on the side of the monitor its self. This comes in really handy when using flash drives since you won't have to get down and plug them into the tower; simply plug them into the side of the monitor.

The moral of this story is that no matter what monitor you buy, work with it first to see how it works for your particular vision. Not everyone sees a monitor equally. What is sharp and clear for you may be off for another. For me the 17" Ultrasharp with its handy USB ports is my preferred monitor.

I was satisfied with pronpty delivery service however the less than satisfactory quality of the screen. I have made several attempts to correct the problem w/o success.

Una magnífica adquisición para uso en una oficina doméstica. Los ajustes son fáciles de realizar, las letras (con Windows XP) no se ven con tonos rojizos o verdes como ocurre con los monitores baratos (como AOC), la nitidez de los colores es muy buena y los ajustes de la resolución de la pantalla se pueden hacer muy bien. Estoy usando una resolución de pantalla de 1152 x 868 px, y no la máxima que soporta (1280 x 1024) pues con esta última los iconos se ven un poco pequeños. Sin embargo es suficiente para mi trabajo y mejora mi productividad. Los ajustes de altura e inclinación del monitor funcionan muy bien. No me gustan los monitores panorámicos (wide screen) pues no se ven nada bien con Windows XP y me molestan la vista.
