While the glossy display is a love/hate depending on the user, I was initially unhappy with the touch functionality as it registers
touches only on the specified main monitor which is a non-issue if you only use 1 touch screen, but a pain when you have multiple touch displays.

I was happy to get dual/multi-screen touch to work.

To setup dual/multi-screen touch, the USB cables from the monitors need to be connected to the computer.
I'm using Windows 8.1 Enterprise (other versions should work too) with side-by-side Dell 2714T's.

To make the 2+ touch displays work:

1) Open "Control Panel" (right-click the Start Logo on the lower left)
2) Click "Hardware and Sound"
3) Click "Table PC Settings"
4) On the Tablet PC Settings Widow, click the "Setup" button near the top where it says Configure your pen and touch displays
5) The system will prompt to touch each monitor

When the process is completed, monitor touches will register on the appropriate monitor.

We just got a new Windows 8 computer on a black friday deal here at amazon. I read lots of reviews that said windows 8 is much better with a touch screen. Since I saved so much on the computer (thanks AMAZON!) I figured I would get a new monitor. I sort of had sticker shock when I saw the prices on some of these touch monitors...geez...they cost more than than the computer!! (And I am a little cheap!! ha ha!!) This one was in a more realistic price range...and so far has exceeded all my expectations.

We plugged everything in and were so excited to see the new monitor...but only got a black screen! After fooling around with wires, we thought maybe we got a dud. I did buy mine on a sale directly from Dell. I read that Dell doesn't really repair things...just replaces... and apparently it isn't easy to get an order number when you buy from a third party. If it were amazon.com selling, I figured it would be easier since they are so big, but since it was other sellers I didn't know, I got nervous.

Anyway, I thought maybe my husband hooked up the wrong port or something (it DOES come with all the wires...including HDMI) but he didn't. Then I decided just to push some buttons on the monitor. Apparently, the default out of the box was VGA so looking through the menu options gave me a choice for HDMI. That worked and the thing blazed to life!!! (I just wanted to post that part in case someone hooks theirs up and has the same trouble.)

It is truly a huge improvement over my older monitor. Crisp, bright and big!!!! I purposely looked for one that did not have any rim or frame on it since windows 8 requires swiping in from the side. The picture part of the screen does have a black frame around it, BUT the glass is perfectly flat from edge to edge.

I am satisfied with this monitor with one exception. When using multiple monitors, the touch screen input is directed to the main monitor. It is not an issue, as long as the Dell monitor is designated the as the main monitor. It appears to me to be an issue with their driver. The touch screen window on my laptop continues to work as expected even when it is not designated as the main monitor. I was interested in purchasing a 2nd DELL monitor, but would not be able to make use of the touch screen capabilities under these circumstances.

I contacted Dell tech support in an effort to report and hopefully resolve the issue, but they were not helpful. I was transferred to 4 different technicians, all of whom told me they did not handle these issues. The last technician told me I would have to call back. It appears I will not be purchasing the 2nd monitor as desired.

This item arrived on time and was easy to connect. Windows 8 found the drivers automatically so it was simply a plug and play.
I love the way the screen tilts back making the touch screen easier to use than a pure upright monitor.

Minor drawback: The cable connections are at a 90 degree angle, inset from the back of the monitor. It is more difficult than it should be to plug in each of the cables.

Working well with Windows 8.1; I think the picture is very clear and the colors are great. Touch features work well. It is a little difficult to plug in cables during installation because of their position at bottom of monitor. When setting up the monitor for the first time be sure to use the OSD to set the correct input. And if, like me, you are not using the sound feature, be sure to disable it in Device Manager.

Using Windows 8.1 with this monitor is just plain enjoyable! The only thing I would say that's negative is the lack of paper install instructions. The first day I almost gave up on it as I was building a totally new system, meaning windows was not already installed and I had connected the USB cable for the touchscreen right away. Since Windows wasn't already installed, my computer had all kinds of problems with the USB ports. I reinstalled Windows a second time, this time without hooking up the USB cable to the monitor and all was good. After installing Windows I then hooked up the USB cable and all was fine.
