Wow this is an amazing set of speakers. I've had them since 2004 and I have never been happier, it's crazy how good the quality is on them and even the bass turned up is phenomenal. Very clear and never distorted I highly recommend them.

These came with my Dell computer and I've been very pleased with the sound quality from them. The bass response is surprisingly good, however I tend not to blast them, so I don't know if it breaks up when these things are pegged.

The only thing that irks me about these speakers is the combined power/volume knob. The volume knob goes down until the speakers click off. That means every time you turn on the speakers, you have to turn the volume back up to the level you had them at previously if you want the volume of various things you listen to to be the same. Kind of a pain, but especially so given that Dell did not print numbers on the dial. Only bars of increasing thickness. There is so little difference between the thickness of the markers that it makes it sort of difficult at a glance to know if you are turning them back up to the same level you had them on the previous day. Sometimes they're too quiet and I have to reach over and adjust them, sometimes they're too loud and I have to adjust the other way.

Probably not a big deal for most people, but for me a separate power switch and volume knob would have been far more preferable.

Well my sister bought a DELL that came with these... And well I've used them around my house, and on my computer since she left them at the house...

The only thing that rivals their sound is a 7.1 Home-theater I own... For PC/Music use THESE SPEAKERS ROCK, nothing beats the price for the quality.

They are really though also... I've dropped the small speakers a couple of times, and let me tell you they can take a hit haha...

I only have one complain about them and its the power on/off switch... As other reviewers have said it sucks to be "trying to find out what volume it had before" as the dial only shows increasing size little bars, you might argue "why turn it off" well.... Sometimes its nice to be able to turn something off! hehe

Also I've had an issue with that same dial, it seems it just doesn't control volume anymore (it did at first, so I blame it on one of those hits the right speaker took). By "doesn't control volume" I mean it doesn't matter if it is next to the off position, it sounds just as if it is on max... (as I said probably the result of one of the hits that the poor speaker took...)

Overall for 3 years non-stop use, receiving some hard bumps, and being moved around constantly, these speakers surpass the quality of any other system I've owned...

Summary:

PROS:
-Great sound (That bass sounds amazing, even better if you place it in some "confined place" like under a desk or bed.
-Small, really compact set.
-Resistant (they sure can handle some rough usage)
-Built to last.
-Cheap.

CONS:
-The ON/OF switch/volume control, might be a pain, but hey it works...
-I'll admit it, the wiring isn't that comfortable.

Overall Awesome sound/nice price/durable.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a cheap nice set of speakers for their home computer.

I have had my set of A525 speakers and subwoofer set now for about two years and they are great. The sound is so crisp and clear and the bass really gets thumping for just a 4" sub. I can crank the tunes from my computer in the bedroom and still hear my music very loud and very clear all the way across the house while I'm in the kitchen. It's almost overkill for a computer speaker system but we like to watch movies on the computer in bed so it is great for those action scenes. I paid quite a bit for mine but here I see that they are selling it on amazon for $30! Other sites still have this listed for around $90. This is a great buy! I wish I would have only paid $30 for mine but even though I paid a lot more for the ones I got they are worth every penny.

I have had these since my old computer which was an XPS 410 and i now have it with my new XPS and it still works flawlessly, but after 7 or 8 years i have started noticing some problems like the rare beeping and an occasional cutting out of the left speaker, I always have the base nob turned all the way up and the sound quality has never gone down, the only times when the sound quality went bad was when my computers audio mixer did something I didn't want it to do. This set-up is great for the price and for a worthy 4" sub-woofer it really kicks. I recommend it for anyone.

had an old set from about 7-8 years ago AND THEY STILL SOUND GREAT! wanted a backup set in the event the old ones every blew out. Love the blue light on it, sound is crispy crisp and the bass knocks! (you could here the humm 2 stories away in my basement), that is if you decide to pump up the woofer or not...the woofer has a separate volume control WHICH IS WONDERFUL and convenient...chords are nice and long so you can spread the woofer and sattelites nice and far apart...screw overratted overpriced BOSE...I gaurentee they would fail the pepsi challenge against these anyday

I wasn't sure what it was at first when I walked by but saw it was a sub woofer / speaker setup. I almost put it back because I thought the tan connector was a propriertary connection to the computer... I'm glad I didn't!! I have them hooked up in my office playing through an iPhone tuned to Pandora. Great sound seperation (there is enough cord to reach about 10 feet)They are as good as everyone else claimed, can't wait to crank them on the weekend and see what they'll do. A little Windex and a cloth does wonders...
