I purchased this PC from this seller, assuming that his description of the PC was accurate. I bought into it because his feedback is always good. However, when I got this machine, it was only 512MB RAM and not 2GB like the description promised. I contacted seller and left him negative feedback, to which he responded to promptly ... He apologised profusely and offered to send me two 1GB each sticks of RAM, and if I removed my negative feedback right away, he'd throw in a 4GB flash drive for my troubles. I wouldn't have removed the FB if I knew that I couldn't replace it with another. The seller knew this, and that's why he had me do it. He sent me that flash drive to cover his behind.

Basically, this guy bribed me so he could get more sales and sell his fake PCs. Also, this seller dropped the price, [...] ... I wonder why that is ... Too many complaints ? Anyone who bought this PC and left good feedback obviously doesn't know how to check their systems and HDs to make sure they are accurate.

So, I removed the feedback and received the RAM and flash drive in the next business day.

Today, I tried to move files from my other PC (which is 176GB HD storage), and it stopped at 30GB to tell me there isn't enough space to do so. I checked it out, and what do you know, it was only 40GB !!! So, not only did this seller goof up on the RAM, he also lied about the HD space, as well as the processor. He says it's 2.8 and it's only 2.4 ... So far, this has been nothing but a nightmare.

I will NOT be removing this review this time, because I think this seller's potential victims/customers have the right to know what they are purchasing.

I wish I didn't have to leave a 1-5 star review for this product, because the seller doesn't even deserve one star.

I bought a refurbished Dell from GrupoComp (a.k.a. A Computer for Everybody)in March and the DVD drive didn't work. They sent another one and it was too large. Then they sent another one that was too small. This was going on during March. I requested a refund and Shawn said ok. Then I sent the computer back on April 7th with all the requested forms. I sent it Confirmation Receipt requested and they said they never got the computer back but I have a receipt from the Post Office saying they got it on April 13 at 11:13 am. So now I'm in the process of getting a refund but they are being total jerks about it. Don't buy from them! I sure wont. They are about the worst sellers I've seen on Amazon.

When I received my computer I took it home and hooked everything up. All that happened is that the fan came on. I sent an e-mail to the company and they sent me a form to send it back for repair. I send it UPS, at my expense, and it shows they sign for it on Tuesday. I contact the company on Thursday to find out what's happening, and get told that it is scheduled to go to the diagnostic bench on Monday. That's almost a week from when they get it. I'm waiting to see what's going to happen next. I will keep you posted and pray it all works out OK.

Computer looks like it came right off the garage floor and into a box. When the box was opened we knew there would be problems because the computer was not properly packed, a minimal amount of form was added and there is no factory packaging. Computer worked for approximately 5 minutes and then quit. No keyboard action would revive the machine so I had to press the power button to shut it off. After several minutes it started normally but again the same problem. We believe we traced the problem to the junk speakers it shipped with. When the machine ran we managed to download the updates but now it sounds like "rice crispies" and we're sending it back before the house burns down.

Reviews for this company were good. Reviews for this produt stank so I should have dug deeper. Now I'm out the shipping charges (both ways). If you researched this computer a week ago you'd see a drastic price drop because the stuff doesn't work.

When I bought this computer I thought it was a great deal, and it is I just didn't know it would come with "strings". I had purchased this computer for my 73 year old mother in-law, she was very happy when she got it the only thing was that it doesn't come with instructions, and she needed help hooking it up...ONLY COMPLAINT. So I went online on Amazon and and wrote my first review. I gave the computer company a three, it was a good price and when it was up and running my mother was happy. Two days later I get a call from the company to take down my review. When I didn't get around to the next day they called again. So I contacted Amazon and they said there is a strict policy against sellers contacting buyers about their reviews. So Amazon sent me another email to review this product again. It has been a week and the computer comapny is still calling. So heads up buyer the reason they have so many positive reviews is because the ask the other customers to take down the negative reviews. We have not had issues with our computer but it has only been a week or two since we got it. Good luck.

This computer is awesome!! And, for a measly $300, it's perfect. It runs fast and smooth. Has tons of hard drive space. Is quiet. If you have lots of USB devices with 8 USB ports you can't go wrong. The particular model I have does not have any PS2 ports, but most devices are USB now any way. If yours aren't you can easily and cheaply find adapters. Good thing is it comes with a USB mouse and keyboard so you really don't have to worry to much about it. I haven't had a chance yet to use the DVD/CD writer, I know it reads quickly. So far their hasn't been one issue with this computer. And, the customer support is amazing. I have been having some problems with Active X controls, not just specific to this computer but on all my computers. When I left feedback I said something about a programming problem. They promptly called me back to ask me what the problem was, now even though the problem is not specific to this computer, he was forwarding the message to tech support to help me fix it. That's just amazing, I have never heard of a company helping with a problem that is not their sale specific. Excellent customer support!!!
I can't say enough good things about this computer or the company who sells it. I recommend highly, I hope this helped you make a decision.


UPDATE: It is now June 20th and my computer is still running fine...knock on wood. The only complaint I would have is the keyboard has really tiny backspace button and huge caps lock button so I either miss one or accidentally hit the other. That just might be in part to my wonderful typing skills. So back to the computer. I have the 2.8 GHz SFF version. The MEMORY IS NOT UPGRADABLE! 2GB IS THE MAX!! I am a little unhappy about that. I use a lot of memory intensive programs and wanted to upgrade. If you have an option to buy one of the other versions of this computer get the bigger chassis. The SFF is the only optiplex that is not upgradable. This is my main disappointment and only one so far.

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!: Ok, now it's July 17th and I have had nothing but problems. I contacted seller and they asked if I bought a warranty from a third party warranty seller. I was NEVER offered this extended warranty. So, to say the least I am not covered for any tech support at all. I just had to buy a new heat sink and fan, the computer is constantly freezing and over-heating, and the memory is not upgradable (as mentioned above). Unless you buy this NEVER OFFERED extended warranty you're screwed. I expect the CD-DVD-RW drive to fail soon as well because when it starts up the thing whirls faster (and louder) than it ever would normally or ever should. If you really need a computer, buy the warranty, that is never offered (not sure how you do that). I did buy that warranty for my laptop and x-box (bought from other companies) and it makes the price go up significantly, so you may as well buy a new computer from someone else with XP installed. I would not recommend buying this one nothing but headaches and frustration. Or figure out how to get that warranty. I can't change my rating but if I could maybe 2 or 3 stars, for while I was under my short warranty they did help me, and it was delivered fairly quick and ran when I got it. But not even 6 months later you will have problems, hope you like re-installations and buying new parts from Dell (expensive).

THIS PIECE OF CRAP DIED. AND DIED AGAIN! IT'LL WORK FOR 8 MONTHS TOPS MAYBE A YEAR SOME PPL SAY. IF YOU DO BUY THIS BUY A WARRANTY TOO. I NOW HAVE TO SHELL OUT MORE MONEY FOR ANOTHER COMPUTER. THIS TIME BUYING BRAND NEW SYSTEM. REFURBISHED CANNOT TRUST. HAVE PUT MONEY INTO IT AND IT STILL DIED. NOT TO MENTION IT IS NOT UPGRADABLE!!! DEAD DEAD DEAD!!!

I BOUGHT THIS COMPUTER AND THE PC WAS FINE HOWEVER EVERYTHING ELSE DID NOTWORK, I EMAILED THE SELLER AND THEY SENT THESE VERY CHEAP REPLACEMENT ITEMS, THE PC BOLT ALSO WAS MISSING AND AFTER 6 MONTHS THE PC NO LONGER WORKS, FOR NOW ON I WILL READ EVERY REVEIW BEFORE I PURCHASE!

I READ SOME OF THE REVIEWS ON THIS ITEM, SOME STUCK OUT. SO I CALLED AMAZON.COM CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND COMPANY. THE REP I TALKED TOO, CALLED THIS COMPANY TO ASK THEIR LOCATION AND HOW LONG THEY BEEN IN BUSINESS. THEY WOULD NOT TAKE AMAZON'S CALL. SO FOR ME THAT RAISES A BIG QUESTION MARK. I'M GLAD I DIDN'T BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM THESE GUYS. IF YOU'RE NOT TAKING CALLS FROM THE PEOPLE PUSHING YOUR PRODUCT, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE A BUYERS CALL. NO THANK YOU.

This is a perfect machine for both beginner and pro's. Its really fast and very good price.

When I ordered the Dell Computer it was shipped the very same day and arrived a few days later in excellent condition. The setup was very easy and the speed and operation of the computer are excellent. I have had no problems at all and love my computer. I would recommend this computer and company to anyone looking to purchase a refurbished computer at a great price.
