Pretty good for the price,
This review is from: Dell G2410 24-Inch - Widescreen TFT LCD Flat Panel Monitor (Electronics)
It's definetely a good monitor, but I don't see too much difference between this monitor and other non-led ones. The resolution is great and the picture looks great as well. There isn't an HDMI port but you can use the DVI to plug in HDMI devices if you so choose.

I am not an expert, but I am an engineering major who spends a lot of time at my computer, and combined with my new hot rod desktop, this monitor does all I need it to....I could sense a little jealousy when I showed my IT pro buddy who just bought a 5-figure engagement ring and wont be able to feed his tech habit for a while. The bottom line is it's a no-frills 24' that performs very well for the price, or at least the price I paid. No complaints yet!

I found this monitor to be overly bright, the colors washed out, and in general difficult to look at. If feels like staring into a light bulb. As one small example, if you look at the Outlook 2007 icon in the tray, the orange colors look washed out to yellow. Looking at black text on a white background is a bit painful.
If you're looking for an inexpensive monitor and don't mind the washed out colors and poor contrast, this may be a good fit, otherwise look elsewhere. I spent maybe two hours playing with the settings over several days and just could not make this work for me. Most laptop monitors look better and the Dell UltraSharp U2410 has noticeably better coloring (which is what I replaced this with).

although i'm waiting to receiving the dell g2410 monitor, my assumption is that it'll be a great monitor for good reason. you see, back in february 2009 i purchased the
dell s2409w monitor and that one has been great to say the least and should last many more years. so with that, along with the dell g2410 monitor being identical to the dell s2409 in every way but in addition having the more advanced led backlighting rather than the outgoing ccfl backlighting(as in the dell s2409w monitor) i figured it's safe to assume the dell g2410 monitor will even better since it's slimmer and lighter(via led backlighting) than the dell s2409w monitor in which i've stated was already a great monitor. oh one more thing, according to the specs. the led backlighting of the g2410 monitor uses 35% less energy than the ccfl backlighting of the s2409w monitor and led backlighting are known to help produced better image quality than ccfl backlighting in both hdtv's and monitors along with led's being the wave of the future and ccfl's gradually becoming a dinosaur. |
