So I paid $135 for shipping laptop (around 10 pounds) just to find that Dell ships it Purolator Ground(!!! NOT AIR) and that it takes 7-10 days to arrive. APPROX. TOTAL TIME FOR ME TO RECEIVE MY LAPTOP AFTER PLACING AN ORDER ONLINE: 1 month and 2 weeks (hopefully)... Alex

#1. Good/cheap system? Who cares! I was waiting 2 weeks for my order to arrive so I have decided to call to find out that they have cancelled my order (and after transferring me to 3 different departments - and waiting for over 40 minutes to get through to each - they could not figure out why the order was cancelled!!!!) - why did noone call me to inform that it was cancelled - they did not know that as well!!!

#2. To get through to Dell customer support would take you on average about one hour - just to find out that they are not able to help you - they know nothing.. one time customer rep is not responsible for online orders, another time their systems are down, third time they are not allowed to help you because apparently the information is confidential, etc...

#3. It has been almost a month - my CC charged over $2,000 - noone knows how much more it would take for the system to get delivered!!! Customer support does not seem to care and sometimes is pretty rude... I am sick and tired the way Dell treats its customers and now wish I had paid $300 more for a Compaq instead....

VERDICT? DO NOT BUY FROM DELL !!!

I have a Dell Dimension 8400 and called customer service for the first time recently for problems with what turned out to be a failed hard drive. The customer service man in India (had thick Indian accent) obviously didn't understand the situation with my PC, which was explained to him clearly, with specific details that showed to a knowledgeable person that there were problems with the hard drive. All I ended up getting was some sort of CD being shipped to me----it may be a new OS CD-----and no help or resolution to my hard drive problem. I ended up taking the PC to a local, non Dell pc repair technician, even though I had a few years left on my extended warranty that came with the system.

Dell support is totally useless if the customer service people don't completely understand English. Dell's decision to take its customer service/technical support over in India was a BIG MISTAKE, in my opinion.
