You get an one year of the Dell Basic Hardware Limited Warranty. Once you get the laptop you have to register the laptop to get the warranty. I don't know how, but I was lucky to get a 1.25 year Dell Basic Hardware Limited Warranty and 1.25 year Rapid Response Depot Warranty too. No Service Contracts. If you want a Service Contract, then you will have to contact Dell to purchase a Service Contract before the Dell Basic Hardware Limited Warranty ends. --- PS --- This information is only for the new laptops, meaning that you are the first owner of this laptop. ---- Here is the link to the limited Warranty info Just copy and paste in you URL in your browser and press enter ------------- http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1/solutions/limited-hardware-warranties

No. The Microsoft Office is not actually pre-installed in this laptop. There is just an icon link (an installer downloader) to download and install Microsoft Office 365 (2013) as a 30 day trial or as a paid subscription. You can still buy MS Office that will work on only one computer (one license copy) and install it in your laptop. You can also install and use LibreOffice suite for free. As well as Google Drive has word processor (Google Docs) and spreadsheet (Google Sheets) web apps that you can use for free as well.

can I edit music with Sep 18, 2014
Yes. But you will need extra software, like Audacity to do so. If you going to capture analog audio then you will need some hardware that will convert analog audio to digital and then send the digital signal to the laptop through an USB port. You can get one from $7.99 to hundreds of dollars. The more you pay the better the quality of audio and more tracks you can capture at one time. PS - Yes the headphone jack is also for a microphone too, but quality of audio will not be professional quality. All professionals convert analog audio to digital before sending to the computer.
