Purchased this screen a month ago. When it first arrived, I installed it and the backlight worked but the screen was just blank. So, I sent it back to get a replacement. The company was easy to contact and they replaced it within a week. The new screen is the same as the original on my dell 1501. The picture quality is the same and the brightness is also equal. Hopefully this will hold out until I can get my new computer next spring. The installation is very straight forward, just take out all the screws around the screen, gently pop out the plastic covers and put in the new screen.

I purchased this screen in December 2009 and the install was fairly straight forward. The screen was somewhat dim but I was happy to have a working laptop after the original backlight burned out. Eight months later this screen has died as well. The seller has a 90 return policy and therefore what I would consider an unreasonably short amount of time I'm left having to purchase another screen. I wouldn't buy anything from Techorbits at this point but I certainly wouldn't purchase this screen again.

The hardest part of installing this replacement LCD screen was taking off the plastic bezel from the face of the monitor. Other than that, one has to take a little care in plugging the ribbons to the back of the new LCD. On a scale of 1-10 in difficulty, I'd say this was about a 6. It saved me big bucks from taking it to a shop or buying a new laptop.

Relatively easy to replace if you find some instructions online and take your time. There was some issue with the frame as it is a universal type of screen so you have to do a little mechanical work to mount it but nothing too difficult. The picture quality is not as good as the original however the original just cracked for no reason. I would buy one again as long as we get more than one year out of it.
