This docking station is not the least expensive option but I felt it was the best option. After having used it for a month I'm glad I made this choice.
It offers convenience with plenty of expansion ports for peripheral devices.

Got one for the office and will now probably get one for home. I constantly go back and forth between my home office and work. I use multiple monitors and have many things to connect at each location. Now I come in, drop my laptop on the docking station and am good to go. I don't have to get under the desk to find those cords that have fallen so i can plug them in anymore.

Decent price and this does exactly what was advertised. I have this hooked up at work and just drop my laptop on it and press the power button. Keyboard, mouse, speakers and mouse all run thru the docking station while charging my laptop. As advertised!

Take it out of the box, plug in the peripherals, dock the notebook and press the power button. Its that easy. If you spend more than a couple of hours in an office each week, then you need a docking station.

For what this does I don't understand why its $80.
Its $10 of equipment and doesn't extend much.
On my laptop I have an RGB port, Ethernet port, Power, 4 USB and eSata and HDMI.
The doc, 2 more usb, network, 1 rgb 1 DVI, eSata, HDMI.
The only thing it adds is a 2nd DVI-D port, careful if you buy a converter, I bought a DVI-I to RGB at the same time and they're not compatible.

The laptop it self doesn't support a 3rd monitor, my main reason for getting the dock.
You cannot use the RGB port on the docking station and the RGB on the laptop at the same time.

I *thought* I was ordering a brand new part, and that may still be the case but what I received looked like it was repackaged (well enough to protect it but not very professional). I also noted a sticker on the outside of the box saying the item was "refurbished". I'm guessing this simply means it was used and sold as new. I'm not sure how they would refurbish an unopenable port replicator. All that said what arrived was in working order (so far). I was also surprise by the power supply. This looks like an older model. I ordered a brand new version of this port replicator from Dell with my laptop and the power supply is much smaller (model AA90PM11). Seems slightly misleading that this would be presented with other "new" offerings on Amazon but the product was in good shape and is working as it should.

This docking station works fine with my laptop and pointedly doesn't take up as much space as the larger version. I'm not sure what else to say, other than it works fine on my work machine running XP. If you need extra connectors (more video outputs, etc.), then opt for the larger model.

Rare do I give anything I buy on Amazon a bad rating, but this I'm afraid deserved it. I had just purchased a new laptop and we were perplexed as to why the battery wasn't charging. The docking station drained my laptop battery down to next to nothing. I brought the laptop and docking station to a Dell technician and he was the one who discovered the docking station was defective. He also mentioned something about broken seals inside the docking station. I of course returned it and was charged a huge restocking fee. It was more the $15.00 which I felt was unfair considering the docking station was broken. I got this from CSTMALL. Do they put these broken items back on the shelf and sell them without fixing them? I surely hope not!!!

I just started my new job and got a New Dell laptop core i5, super fast, what i did not know was that i also got this cool docking station which simplifies every single connection starting with multiple usb ports as well as leaving that annoying power adapter inside my office drawer. It charges the laptop while connected. I strongly recommended. I give it a 4 because there is no perfect product, otherwise companies would start developing new ones. right?

I long resisted switching from a desktop to a laptop because laptops are a hassle to work on. A docking station can change all that. I have a flat-screen monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers hooked up to the docking station. Poof--like having a desktop, but I can still easily grab my laptop and go. The docking station doubles as a charger, so you can leave your power cord in your laptop bag and avoid wasting putting it up. Even with all the above hooked up, I still have USB ports to spare, but it's nice that you can still use the ones on your laptop. The docking station slightly raises your laptop to lower temperatures a bit.

On the downside, if you don't "lock" the laptop in it sometimes pops off. Moving your laptop on and off of the docking station will cause your laptop to freeze for a few seconds. The docking station is a little bulky and collects dust.
