5.0 out of 5 stars Real 20" Monitor
I've had this monitor for about a year w/o any problems. It actually has a bigger screen than the wide screen monitors now available because of it's 4:3 aspect. No dead pixels and good color reproduction. It takes 4 different video feeds and switches easily between them. It's not a gamers monitor but for the rest of us it's great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Less than exceptional
I've had two of these for about a year. Believe it or not, yellow tape inside each monitor started coming loose and slipping down between the backlight and display surface, causing a yellow rectangular shape to appear in the upper left corner of each monitor. Search Dell's web site and you'll find similar complaints (and even photos) from other consumers. Note that...

5.0 out of 5 stars Real 20" Monitor, April 30, 2010
This review is from: Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor (Electronics)

I seen many complaints in monitor reviews about their stands - this one is metal and adjusts vertically, tilts, rotates and swivels into portrait view - most excellent. I am writing this review because I am looking for a second one and just dropped by to see what was available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best investment I ever made., October 3, 2010
This review is from: Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I bought this in fall of 2001 and I still use it! That's exactly NINE YEARS!!! Not only does it work, but EVERYTHING still works like new!!! I can't believe how good the technology was back then. It rivals current technology believe it or not. The VGA input works perfectly and I never used the DVI input until just a few weeks ago (9 years after purchase) and it works great! This monitor wasn't even made to use HDMI since it wasn't even invented at the time, but with an HDMI to DVI adapter, you can use this just like you would use your brand new LCD HD TV!!! I'm not even trying to sell the thing because it works so great. Why fix something that isn't broke? This monitor receives heavy usage, including all 4 perfectly working USB 2.0 ports. Talk about a great investment! I could sell this today and it would work the way it worked 9 years ago!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Monitor, September 6, 2007
This review is from: Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I've had this for about 4 years so far and it's still working like a champ. No issues so far; no green stripes and no dead pixels. Back when I bought it this monitor was selling for upwards of 1K believe it or not. But I have no regrets; it has held up quite nicely.

These monitors are an excellent deal for the money. I have several hundred deployed at my client locations and we've never seen 1 fail.

Note that several had the same problem with the newer 2007FP.

Dell finally sent warranty replacements for each monitor. The first had problems where certain types of graphics were overlaid with blocky red splotches; the second suddenly developed a huge streak of colored lines going down the center of it, rendering the monitor useless; even powering on/off and resetting to factory defaults wouldn't help.

So at this point I'm waiting to get another pair of replacements.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality, December 29, 2008
This review is from: Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I got this 4 yrs back for about $600 from Dell. Use it every day and is working just like new. No pixel problems or any other problems. It was quite advanced then, and is still so in some way-- especially the various ports it has allows me to connect so many things to this monitor directly, instead of my CPU at my floor level. E.g. I am planning to use S-video to connect my monitor and TV... While my other brand new 22" Dell monitor does not have an S-video TV out!
