The monitor was very clean and works great!
Jay
The monitor works perfectly as a "secondary" monitor to the 2407WFP since both screens have the same pixel height (1200) and vertical dimensions.
Richard Schilhavy
Really fantastic clear, flat image with good viewing angle.

One of the few monitor available with a 4:3 dimension ratio. Great for photo editing, it also pivots from landscape to portrait (and goes up or down easily) if you need to see a larger portrait format. Very easy to install and with very fine definition, great colors and blacks. More features (for gamers I think) that I would use. Really fantastic clear, flat image with good viewing angle.

As usual I did a fair amount of research on foot and on the web. This model seemed to be a favorite of photograph editors. Of course it is excellent for everyday computing too. I can sit 3 to 4 feet away from the monitor and read comfortably text that's 9 points high ( I am an older guy) with the screen resolution set at 1280 x 1024 pixels! (Screen dimensions are 16" wide by 12" high - Max pixels is 1600 x 1200 )

I hope Dell continues to make 4:3 monitors. The present direction is for 16:9 wide screens though (my local tech center did not carry any 4:3 hence my purchase from Amazon) so get yours while there are still some around.

Also of note: the shipping (not from Amazon) was free and the product was delivered in 2 or 3 days (from TX to PA).

I do a lot of Windows-based graphical work and this 4:3 ratio monitor is perfect for that. I've used other monitors both full screen and widescreen and this is the one that's the best. The images are sharp and clean for when you need to look closely at the work and it's big enough where if you want to show other people, they don't have to strain their eyes. The problem with the widescreens for my work (I used a 20 inch and then I used a 22 inch) is that it stretches the images so it's distorted and then when I adjust it to full screen mode, it cuts it to 15 inch and 16 inch images, that's like looking at my laptop. I highly recommend this for people who have to use "Office" based programs alot, even if I only used Word and Excel, I'd still want to use this monitor.

I am an IT consultant, and I like this monitor so much, I have now bought close to 30 of them. Six for personal use. The two issues I have had with most monitors in portrait mode is that they either seemed too tall, or not wide enough. This monitor solves both of those problems. The resolution of 1600x1200 means that you get a width of 1200 pixels in portrait mode which I find is wide enough. I have on occasion found 1080 to be too narrow, but rarely feel that way with these. I also feel that I can still "see" the whole screen on these. With a 22" or 24" monitor in portrait mode, I felt I needed to move my head to scan from top to bottom, because they were so tall. I have two workstation that I primarily use, each has a mix of these in portrait mode and 22" or 24" displays in landscape. I find that I typically use the portraits for email, browsing or anything involving text. I don't do much work with video or images, but I have never noticed a problem with the speed of these monitors. Nor have I noticed any problems with the colors or whites, that others have mentioned.
The other nice thing about these are the inputs. There is VGA, DVI, Composite Video and S-Video. You can even do PIP with the analog video signals. There is also a built in USB hub in you need it. The only thing I am not crazy about are the menu controls, but they are no worse that most other monitors out there, and they are real buttons, that don't seem to get accidentally hit.
Granted most of what I have said pertains more to the resolution of 1600x1200 than the quality of the image, but doing a quick search on Newegg of monitors with this resolution, shows that the rest of them are at least twice as expensive. If you are looking for a portrait monitor, I can't see a better deal out there.

I currently have two of these monitors that I am using and am super pleased with the display, color and clarity. However the biggest plus is the 1600 x 1200 pixel screen resolution. Widescreens may be great for watching movies, but for computer work, the 4:3 aspect ratio is ideal. On this 20 inch monitor, two single page Word documents may be viewed in full side by side without any need for scrolling.

The 4:3 ratio is getting hard to find and with my delightful experience with the monitor, I've ordered yet a third monitor from Amazon just to have waiting in the wings if one of my others bites the dust.

A word of caution. The featured photo on the Amazon website in NOT a picture of a Dell Ultrasharp 2007fp 20-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor. However the optional photos to the side are accurate. However don't let the error throw you..... what you get inside the box is the real thing.
