I cannot even get the printer work via USB, after the countless hours trying to setup WiFi WPS over Xfinity.

The ink cartridges are expensive and the black cartridge only lasts about 100 pages.

Having been a die hard HP fan of their printers for decades, I was hesitant to buy this printer when I recently bought a new Dell laptop. I'm glad I gave this machine a shot it performs beautifully albeit a few minor disappointments.

Like anything else, the choice of a printer should reflect your needs and applications for use. In this respect the V525 is wonderful. It connects immediately to your wireless network without any hassle what so ever. The scanner is a welcome addition and any problems regarding Twain issues which often cause conflicts have been resolved by Dell.

For daily use the printer is fast, crisp and the quality superb.

Compared to my HP Photosmart 8250 the Dell falls short in photographic quality on a side by side comparison of the same images. This however, is only apparent when printing in the highest DPI. I would say the HP produces a crisper and richer image by 30%.

All other settings are apples to apples.

HP Photosmart technology is wonderful and if you use the settings at full DPI along with the Photosmart filters i.e.: Lighting, Clarity, Smoothing, etc the images produced are breathtaking. However,if you don't need to print on the highest resolution or simply go that route once in a while then it would pretty much be a non issue.

Dell also has dedicated 24/7 support for their printers via net based and #800. I've only needed to call them once and the support was excellent. The ink cartridges are true to color and now available at any office store but they're VERY expensive. You'll find the best prices right here on Amazon.

Set up is a breeze, it's well designed with a compact footprint so it'll fit most anyplace. Bottom line - An excellent all in one machine at a fair price.

I use this fax printer at the local fire dept and It works great. We fax reports all the time and make copies of events and the copies are excellent. The only thing I worry about is the price of the ink cart.

I am a severely technologically challenged adult!
My 1 (& only) previous printer had 2 buttons! 'On/off' & 'paper feed'...
So needless to say, initially I was extremely intimidated by this printer! & while I admit I didnt set it up- I now find it very user friendly & the printing quality is anazing!

It's a nice printer except for the ink being very expensive (buying a new set of ink cartridges costs as much a new printer) but the real problem is the printer head which fails after a year of moderate use and you cannot buy a new one. There are various procedures given in the manual for cleaning the head and I tried them all but in the end the whole printer was taken to the electronic trash.

This is without a doubt the greatest waste of my money thus far in my life. The "printer" barely prints--about 50% of the time, I can avoid the "local communication failure" in which this stupid device doesn't realize it's connected to my computer one foot away via USB cable. This brings me to the next point. "All-in-one," you say, Dell? "No," say I. I haven't tried to make a copy with this "thing," but I've tried to scan many times. My efforts have been to no avail. The communication failure that occurs about 50% of the time on print jobs occurs 100% of the time on scan jobs. I've tried every setting on the printer and the computer, as well as browsing troubleshooting forums and guides. It simply will not scan a one-page, black-and-white document and transfer it to my computer a cable's length away.

Please save yourselves $100. Don't waste your money on this.

Please stay away from this printer which I recently got from Dell. The first one had print head problems and the replacement also has major problems. The reviews on Dell.com as well as PC magazine reviews do not give this printer high marks!!

My previous Dell printer was a dream from the moment I connected it. The new printer takes 2 minutes just to warm up where my old Dell was ready to print the moment I turned it on. And instead of 2 ink cartridges it has 4 very expensive ones. I used to trust the Dell name, and despite a tech department that works hard to solve problems, the company should not be selling inferior products.

From my experience, this printer is loud, takes a while to crank up and spit out a copy, and won't scan. Still, I could have lived with that if only it would print a decent photo.

When my old computer was at its end and I could no longer access the Internet, I called Dell about a new one. The representative informed me that the photo all-in-one printer I had was not compatible with Windows 7, and I would need a new printer as well. What is your primary use for a printer? he wanted to know. And I told him I make a lot of pictures. Ah, he had just the one for me....the Dell V525W. Since I could not go on the Internet to check it out, I trusted his judgment.

The photos I have made with this printer are terrible. The ink stays wet - even when I use premium quality, quick-dry photo paper - for several minutes. But worse, it never completely sets. The black ink smears, and all of my photos have smudges. So do my hands. So does the refridgerator, where I put some to display.

Finally I called Dell technical support. The first agent took control of my computer for over an hour before he provided me with his opinion: Use 3.5 X 5 paper instead of 4 x 6. Two days later I informed an agent that I was unable to find that size paper, even to give it a try in spite of my doubts. Three agents and several days later, I was informed that it was an expert's opinion that I will never be able to print any better quality photos than I get right now because this is not a photo printer.

I do not fax. I make an occasional copy, and I print out a copy now and then from the computer. Sometimes I scan. Mostly I like to make photos. I will now be in the market for a new printer, one that has the word photo in its name. (Oh, wait!
