Yes, applications can be run from the SD card, but it takes a little work. The SD card needs to be Mounted as a drive but Dell have only assigned it as a Card Reader. You must set it up as a drive and once done, applications will run from that card. If external links are allowed here then try this link. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/surfwinrt-surfdevice/mounting-a-micro-sd-card/8e371761-5c9a-4801-a782-d34e7732da5f Read all the way to the bottom as there are several ways of doing it. Once it is considered a drive by windows then programs can run off it.

Those tools are very expensive to the CPU and RAM. Dell Venue8 PRO can run these tools but it will be very slow. suggest you consider a bigger tablet with higher CPU capacity and bigger screen for media editing. The Dell venue 8 Pro is great for many things but not media editing.

It does not. It also does not support USB Micro to HDMI. However, since it runs Windows 8.1 it is compatible with Miracast video over WiFi. Amazon sells a number of Miracast to HDMI wireless adapters and you can get them for around $60. Unfortunately, none of them have very good reviews. Miracast is a relatively new standard and various devices (especially some Android phones / tablets) are having difficulty implementing the spec., which leads to unhappy reviews. We have yet to see how well this device and Windows 8.1 implement the spec. I'll report back when I have a chance to test.

Yes, it's Windows 8, so it can run anything a full Windows 8 computer can.

is there a keyboard? Feb 12, 2014
There is an on-screen keyboard similar to what you would see on an iPad or any Android tablet. If you want a physical keyboard Dell does make one but it must be purchased separately. Just about any Bluetooth compatible wireless keyboard will also work with it.

Yes, both java and flash. Remember, this is Windows - fullblown. I own a Venue 8 Pro. My website (tackshots.com) uses flash and java for some of its features. No problems at all. This is just like a desktop but in miniature form.

it is a Windows PC essentially. It will take as big of an SD card as they can make As far as I know. I know that least one person who put one the new 128gb ones in there.just remember, this thing can pretty much do anything to your computer can do as long as it has the plug for it.or a port.
