I am not a computer expert--although I do love tech "toys." From a computer, I just want the darn thing to work. I don't want to have to spend time MAKING it work. I have owed several lap tops, desktops (for work and home) and even 5 Macs. This machine (xps 430)running Vista 64 bit, is just fantastic. I even love it MUCH more than my top-of-the-line iMac.

WHY? Because when I plug my digital camera in it, it recognizes how to download the photos and read the software. When I plug my HD video camera into it, I can open, view and store the files. When I plug my garmin, Sirius portable, PSP, Verizon EV2 AND yes, even my iPhone, it recognizes the software and is easy to work with. On top of that, Windows media center makes it easy to link my PS3, XBOX360 and other home computers to my home network. Macs are a PAIN when it comes to linking them to other hardware. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SEE WORKING AT THE APPLE STORE! Good luck attaching YOUR devices and getting full functionality from the associated software!!

If you are looking for a competitively priced machine, want to see how Vista can REALLY perform, and have little to NO patience for figuring things out, you will LOVE this computer. If you have been looking to upgrade your older machine, this is the BEST of the new stuff. Dell has this system running smooth and balanced with no headaches. If everyone on the planet owned this machine, the world would be a happier place.

Sorry, no tech specific data from me. It just WORKS!

P.S.... INSIST on VISTA 64.... 32 bit is a nightmare!
