Great computer so far .
Adam W.
I have already wasted too much time if new power adapter will make the computer work.
Also much faster than my Dell computer costing much more.

I bought this for my Mother. She is over 70 year old and doesn't like lap tops. She only needs to check email, surf the net, and use MS Office (Word & Excel). This was perfect. It played well with her older printer, which was a bonus. I used Belarc Advisor to pull her keys to Office 2007 from her old computer (Windows XP) and had no problems transferring the software. I hung around for about an hour while she learned Windows 8.1. That is all it took. She has had no problems navigating and hasn't had to call me once... for that. :)

I bought the desktop personally through Best Buy.

The website informed me there was 6 USB entries for 2.0 & 2 entries for 3.0. I opened the box, counted only 4 ports of 2.0 (two in front &rear) and only one 3.0 in the rear. The Amazon description also falsely advertised this PC several weeks ago when I went to purchase it, but I see they;ve updated the correct information. When I called them, they wanted me to bring it back and they suggested an adapter of multiple USB entries. I got so angry, I wanted my money back. Thing is, aside from this, the PC is fantastic. So I politely dismissed their suggestions & took it back home. I was caught in their web, along with many customers they've misinformed..

Now, if it's one thing that impressed me the most from this desktop--it's incredibly quiet & small. I keep it nice and safe on my desk, you can barely hear it. I adore the simplistic interface. And what a relief putting away my Ethernet cable away--the umbilical cord has been cut! I enjoy the wireless feature with my router, and the Bluetooth feature is fantastic. It also has an HDMI port in the rear so my TV can mimic as a monitor for special occasions. the power adapter cable is thin & small, so it can fit anywhere. Trying Windows 8 for the first time, is completely overrated & nothing special. Luckily you can always change it back the Windows 7 interface easily. Intel Core Celeron J1800 isn't the most impressive processors now, but this is perfect for casual computer users. I stream movies & I use Photoshop frequently so it runs smoothly. This is a great computer for common users & needing an upgrade from XP.

Yes, if you're not needy for USB ports then this PC is absolutely recommended by me. It's a great buy for its fair price. & I strongly suggest you purchase this kind of sensitive technology in person, if it's possible in your circumstances. It's not smart having this delivered on your doorstep.

i bought this mini desktop pc with the intention of using it solely for the base of a diy point-of-sale setup at my bar. i don't need a pc with a super-fast processor or GoBs of memory. it just needs to be reliable, modern, and most of all, small. this fits the bill perfectly!

i'm not a huge fan of w8, but there are workarounds for that. the touchscreen monitor i bought (found here) is a perfect compliment for this system, as it provides a couple extra USB ports on the monitor and uses HDMI input for the video. this tower (i'm not sure if you can call this pc a tower, as it's actually quite small for a desktop) hides perfectly behind the monitor. the keyboard has the island-style keys, which makes it thinner and easier to tuck away. the mouse is a standard optical.

overall, this is a very basic unit, and offers few frills beyond hdmi and usb3.0. that's exactly what i wanted, so for my setup, it was perfect! i could have easily spent $2500+ on a pre-packaged pos system. this pc, along with the monitor i mentioned earlier, a heavy-duty cash drawer, and a thermal receipt printer, cost me under $700. that's an insane amount of savings! i definitely recommend this inexpensive pc for anyone looking to build out their own pos system.

**update 12/2/14**
since this review has been voted as fairly helpful by all of you, i thought it would be worthwhile to offer an update. it's been about four months since i first wrote this review. everything seems to be going very well with the pos, for the most part. the only issue i've witnessed is that the pc requires a reboot at least once a week to avoid poor performance.

Not an amazing machine, but what do you expect at this price??

As with some of the other reviewers, I bought this for my aging parents as a replacement for their ancient Windows XP machine (which, by the way, I built years ago for about 4X the price!!!). It will be a Christmas gift, so I haven't given it to them yet, but I did want to check that it worked and get it set up in advance so I didn't have to spend hours on Christmas Day doing it.

Unlike some other reviews, it fired right up out of the box, no problem. I haven't gotten any power supply errors, either.

I did initially have trouble getting it connected to my Wi-Fi network, but once I ran a hard network line to it and did the Windows updates, I was able to connect with no problem.

Overall, it seems to work great. No, it isn't a blazing fast power machine, but that's NOT what it was designed for. Still, it boots in under 15 seconds and seems plenty snappy with the installed apps. The boot time is pretty impressive given that it is a 5400 RPM hard drive.

I am also surprised at how LITTLE bloatware is actually installed on the machine. There's a few annoying things like McAfee included, but so what? Uninstall it if you don't want it.

My mom occasionally uses Word and Excel, which before now, have always been installed programs. But I am going to encourage her to use the online versions that you can use FREE with a free OneDrive account. I set up an account for her on this machine, and they are actually pretty easy to use. Why you would pay for the programs as a casual user is beyond me.

To people that are looking to buy this as a gaming machine; don't.
