FIRST: The listing of USB ports is not accurate. There are only two (2) USB3.0 ports. They are on the rear. There are six (6) USB2.0 ports. Four (4) on the rear and two (2) on the front. It also comes with Windows 8.1 and some pretty nice free software and trialware installed.
Inside is a nice, big (VERY QUIET, almost silent!) cooling fan. Keep the right side of the case away from walls, etc., for ventilation and don't put anything on the back part of the top where another vent grill is located.
Regarding the two video/monitor outputs: One is VGA. The other is an HDMI port, but will support a standard 25+pin (white) DVI (Digital Video) cable for digital LCD/LED monitors without an HDMI port. All you need is a small HDMI-to-Digital adapter. Plug it into the HDMI port (works best with a short HDMI extension cable) then plug the white digital monitor cable into it. You can find an adapter online for under $4 if you're willing to wait for shipping (probably from China.) Otherwise, places like Radio Shack have them for about $30. The extension cable is also available online for a couple of bucks - it helps take the weight of the adapter and cable plug off the HDMI port, which can cause it to come loose. It also allows the PC to be moved closer to a back wall, etc.
I bought this computer for some friends and am formatting the C:\ drive to completely remove any traces of Windows8.1 (Microsoft's new "VISTA" Operating System) to install a (purchased) copy of Windows 7 PRO/64-bit. After battling with Windows8 (8.1 refused to install) and all its problems for several months with a new Dell XPS8700 i7 I bought for myself last September.Read more ›

Computer is great for what I need. Took a while to learn 8.1 after using xp for so many years. fits neatly on desk which is a plus but a negative also. There is no way my old sound blaster card can fit in the case. which means my 5 speaker system is useless.

I didn't think I needed the HDMI out port when I bought it, but we used it to present to a large audience with a large flat screen TV and the HDMI worked great. Both the video and audio transferred to the TV. Upgraded to Windows 8.1 and it works fine.

I love my dell! I've had it for about two months and its a complete difference coming from a xp to windows 8.1. Took about 2 weeks to get used to 8.1 but I actually enjoy it now. Runs very smooth, start up is instant.. about 2-3 seconds. Also like having wireless and bluetooth. Something that freaked me out though.. the pc knew the brand of my headphones (skullcandy). I wasn't connected to the internet so I guess thats why it scared me but now I think its cool. I would surely recommend this product to friends and family. Lastly, the delivery took 2 days and it was free, awesome!

The unit came as expected on time as does all of my Amazon orders do. The unit plugged into my Verizon FIOS cable system and Brother printer, without any problems. It came with it's own keyboard and mouse. The windows 8.1 that is loaded on the computer is a little difficult in getting use to. But give us another 6 months and I think we will provail. It is the smallest unit that we could find and that was what we needed. However, it does have the highest hard drive storage of any compariiable unit; i.e. 1 TB. So far we are very pleased with the Dell Inspiron i3647-2308BK computer.

After 8 years dealing with an old and under powered desktop (and Vista) it was time for a change. This Dell desktop really brought me back up to speed. Fast start up, quick processing, and a very good price. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a fast and economical PC.

Just purchased this computer and the performance is great, but be aware that the windows 8.1 no longer bundles Media Center and you have to pay an extra $99 bucks if you want it.
