In an attempt to void myself of HP products (not such an easy task), and save space in my small office I decided to give the little "Zino" a try. For me it has been a "Why didn't I do this earlier" result. The initial setup ritual was so pleasant with Dell I decided to accelerate my plans and purchased a Dell Inspiron Laptop. That too has been a pleasant experience. I have used HP products for years, and Dell is now (in my view) what HP once was. Thanks Dell for being there when we need you.

I bought as a home theatre system. I knew that the video processor was going to be an issue - but I tried it anyway. Bottom line - it could not even play a DVD on a large screen. Never mind internet content (note - I have a fat 10 Meg connection so that was not the problem).
Then I bought a Zino from Dell, directly, figuring that If I update the video to 512 and 6 gigs of RAM that should do the trick. (I really wanted it to work). Well, it did, however, it was not 'snappy' at all. (I guess it was because I went with the standard option of a 1.5 ghz processor. I thought more RAM would be better. Wrong. My Mac Mini (1.83) with 1 gig of RAM handles my home media much 'snappier' (word?). Anyway, you get the idea. I went with a windows machine thinking that recording over the air content would be easier and more reliable than my mac mini / silicondust / elgato set up on the mac (for some reason my recordings were very unreliable). I know others have this working. However, I did not have too much time to dedicate to troubleshooting so we are back with a TV provider. Frankly, it would work from me (the over the air solution). However, it was just too much for my wife to handle.
