The worst printer in the world.,
By
This review is from: Dell ink-jet Color Printer 720 up to 13 ppm (mono) / up to 8 ppm (color) (Electronics)
This is the worst printer I have ever seen, met, read about, or heard tell of. Nothing about it seems to work. The pages constantly misfeed, as if some mysterious force is actually preventing ANY of them from going in straight. And you know how some printers will occasionally grab 2 or 3 pages at once? Yesterday mine grabbed 9 pages, in a scattered sort of way so that I got a little bit of my document on all 9 pages. Who knows, maybe it thought I wanted a fun little puzzle. The overall image quality is horrid; and occasionally, it will refuse to draw ink from a cartridge even when I KNOW the cartridge is full. The reason I know this is because I've tried multiple cartridges; but more telling is the fact that when it "gets thirsty" it will start to draw ink again. I give this printer an A+ for personality; not because I think it's stylish, but because it's really like owning a finicky cat, or a wounded dog. In fact, it does so little printing that I sometimes forget it's actually a printer. Never a dull moment. But for speed, reliability, and quality, it gets an F, an F, and another F - as in ZERO PERCENT. And it comes as no shock me at all that you can buy it here on Amazon for less than the cost of a Skim Latte Grande at Starbucks.

I got this because, I just can't have everything in life, and it is obviously the most affordable out there. I found so many bad reviews but took the chance and am GLAD I DID. You will find complaints about the price of cartridges, but you will also find there are more and more (professional) ink refill stores popping up everywhere. I pay $14.99 for a black ink refill and $16.99 for color. The ink is not "universal" junk and the service takes just 10 minutes, is guaranteed and is just as good as the real thing. The printer is compatible with most computers/operating systems (just make sure). The photo quality is not the best but good for the money, you do have to specify what you are printing and what type of paper and use the best quality print job to get good results. I am picky but frugal and I think for the price, you will be satisfied. FOUR STARS FOR THE PRICE!

This printer is the slowest printer I have ever had, my inkjet printer from 1993 is faster than this one! I don't know what the deal is with this printer! The quality is something to be desired too - it did not do to well a printing a "PHOTO QUALITY" print! Spend the extra money and trade up to the all in one printer by Dell!

I bought two of these at yard sales, thinking I was getting a great bargain. I needed a printer to work online and didn't care how much ink it used since my company was going to buy the ink. Unfortunately, I wasted $22 on a black ink cartridge because this silly thing is so cheap that you can barely read the printout. The letters are wavy, and every line of print has a blank horizontal line through it. Thinking the first printer was malfunctioning, I switched over to the second one and it did the same thing. I've heard Dell gave these out free with the purchase of a computer. Now I see why. I would give this zero stars if possible. Both of these are now in a dumpster. I would not even wish them on the Thrift Shop.

I had to throw this printer out and buy a new one. The print quality looks old and dull. After I ran out of black ink and purchased another one. I put it in the printer and was never able to print again. Only blank pages. The color ink cartridge that had been in there and still had ink in it wouldn't work either. I guess I got what I paid for. I have a Dell computer and it's good, but the printer I will never purchase again.

I got this new with a new Dell PC and it served me well. The black ink cartridge holds quite a bit of ink so it doesn't rip you off like some of them. It prints black text very well, which is mostly what I use it for. I found it very reliable. I have no complaints with it.

I needed a printer just to print out word documents for school with an occasional picture for a report. I didn't need anything fancy. About after a week of using it, it went haywire. It ate paper and wouldn't feed correctly. And that was about six months ago, and it still does not print. I've had people look at it and they couldn't fix it. It's a piece of Junk!

I recieved this printer for free, but I see that you can pretty much get this printer for next to nothing now on this website. The printer has two nice features, 1. it comes with free ink, and 2, it is possibly the most inexpensive printer you can buy. Aside from that, you get what you pay for. The papers never feed correctly, you get this stupid dell software that has about 5 add ons, that ask you to buy more printer ink every time you print something, some budget imaging software. Overall the quality of the product is terrible. I was in the middle of printing out resume's for a job fair and the printer head stopped functioning correctly (it did NOT run out of ink), I ended up with 3 out of 10 resumes thank god. The opportunity cost of buying a dependable printer is too high to settle for the cheapest printer money can buy. I suggest if you are looking for an inexpensive printer, buy the $30 HP, they have been making printers a lot longer than Dell and they are known for their great quality. I am buying the HP D2330 now, it has identical specs however it will feed paper correctly, and will have better quality parts.

While this printer does a fine job printing, replacing the ink cartridge is costly. The only place to get the ink (that I've been able to find)is through the Dell website. Including shipping, one cartridge is over $30. Dell does ship their ink quickly, but it's still much quicker (and cheaper) if you're able to get something at a local store.

I got this printer free with the purchase of a laptop. I already have a really nice all-in-one photo printer, as well as a Kodak Easy Share Photo Printer dock, so I didn't really need this printer. It does come in handy, though, when I'm downstairs, away from my other printer. I do most of my laptop computer work in the kitchen, so I plugged this in down there so I wouldn't have to run upstairs to retrieve a printed copy. It does a fine job on documents.. black and white. It is horrible with graphics though. It's a fine freebie, but I wouldn't pay for it.
