Analyze wood surface and core moisture content in all mill and woodworking applications. Features a newly designed functional case with a built-in handle that puts controls at your finger tips. It makes one-hand operation fast and easy. Calibrated for Douglas Fir at 70 degrees F., correction charts and/or built-in correction is supplied for other species. Temperature correction charts and/or built-in correction and slide rule are also supplied. Includes batteries, carrying case, and extra set of pins.

Product Description

Delmhorst has been the leading manufacturer of high quality pin-type moisture meters for over 60 years. The new "J" series meters offer the latest advancements in moisture meter technology along with Delmhorst dependability. The new case design features a built in handle and fingertip controls for easy one hand operations. All models are packaged in a sturdy plastic storage case, come with 2 extra pins, an owners instruction manual and wood moisture measuring information booklet. Weighs 1-1/4 lbs, measures 8" x 1-3/4" x 1-1/2", uses one 9V battery (included). The J-4 displays wood moisture content in an easy to read and popular analog readout. The J-4 is calibrated to read Douglas Fir at 70 degrees. Using the included species correction and temperature correction tables, moisture content for a variety of different species and environmental conditions are possible. With a connector for the 26-ES external electrode, the J-2000 can take both surface and core moisture content readings. Popular analog readout - 6 to 30 moisture content range. Comes with a one year manufacturers warranty.

In the world of insurance restoration we need to find how far water has traveled in a house after a flood. This tool is perfect to penetrate through drywall and into wood studs to detect moisture. ( use with the long pins provided). It shows the customer ( to their amazment) how wet things really are. We can then mitigate the loss before mold starts growing.

If you need an inexpensive moisture meter, here's where to look. Good value for the money, although you do have to make some adjustments based upon circumstances.


Good value, but the digital version would be better for more accurate readings.
