The Delonghi DH100P Always Dry Dehumidifier offers unique and exclusive features under the number 1 brand name in the category. The product has a broader range of uses as compared to traditional dehumidifiers. Its compact design, easy roll casters and convenient hand grips make it truly portable. The lateral intake/outtake grill allows you to place the unit almost anywhere you like. The control panel is equipped with lights that indicate whether the pump is on, the tank is full, the unit is plugged in, and whether the unit is dehumidifying. The pump effectively removes humidity from the air, and thus prevents bacteria from forming; the result is a healthier living environment.
The Delonghi DH100P Always Dry Dehumidifier’s Triple Collecting Condensation System allows you the flexibility to drain the condensation in three ways:
- Pump it out of the room;
- Continuously drain it through a hose; or,
- Drain condensation into the collection tank.
With its easy "snap on" design, the 16-foot drainage hose is simple to connect. The Tank Control System has auto shut-off features, as well as warning lights that indicate whether the tank is full, missing, in the wrong position, or if the drainage hose is obstructed. The small, high-efficiency fin evaporator removes large amounts of moisture. The anti-bacterial filter, which collects large dust particles and prevents bacteria from forming, is within easy reach.

There is a small in-line filter that appears to be molded plastic and it eventually fills up with sediment and then the unit spills over the top and doesn't pump out the way it did when new. I've written to DeLonghi to ask for a better filter system that can be thoroughly cleaned by the consumer without any tools. Some sort of mini-screw-on filter would be perfect. Otherwise, it is quite and well-made, but the filter is a poor design.

The dehumidifier works great then it breaks. Then we have it repaired. Works great for a few months and then it breaks again. This pattern has repeated itself for several years. Now it is out of warranty, and aside from the hassle of taking it to the repair center every 6 -12 months, the last estimate to repair this lemon was more then half of what we paid for it, so it is going in the recycle bin. I would look at consumer reports as a good place to start shopping and then return here to buy a better, more reliable model.
