Not terrible for $60,
By Hm. "Hm." (Spokane, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Delonghi Scopa EB750EX Lightweight Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
I bought this vacuum a month ago on special for $60. For that amount, it isn't bad.
If you put it together as the photos here show, the handle doesn't tilt back enough for good vacuuming. You pull the vacuum toward you and it tilts fine in that direction. When you then push the vacuum from you, the head doesn't tilt nose down very well unless you have it on backwards, with the point facing toward you. Either way you have to sometimes use two hands, one to hold the handle and the other to push the thing down so that there's enough pressure to make the head tilt forward. It's got respectable suction. Don't buy this if you're looking for something with brushes. There are just three holes that suck stuff. The little felt pad things that I assume are meant to pad the head from wood floors came off immediately during it's maiden voyage across my very low pile carpet. The little wing things pivot nicely, and get under appliances really well. Luckily most of what I need to pick up is dog hair, and it does well with that on the carpet and tile that I have. I wouldn't recommend it for your only vacuum if you have carpet that is more fibery. It's convenient and quick for picking up light stuff on solid surface floors or very very low carpet.

.. with free s&h. Really good deal.
Want to confirm previous reviewer's points - no brushes, the red felt pads fell off right away and is perfect for small spaces or crowded with furniture rooms, where dragging/maneuvering bigger cleaner would be a chore. Wonderful on hard floors.

I bought this vacuum cleaner about five months ago and was disappointed the first time I used it - the same time the little red pads underneath fell off. I have to agree with a previous reviewer and say that this is the worst vacuum I have had. It is definitely not to be used on any carpet or rug of any depth. And I am not too impressed with its performance on tile or wooden floor, either. This little thing is only adequate for small clean up jobs; the kind of things your mother did with a broom. It has very light sucking power which I found a little frustrating. Also, expect to replace the very small and rather expensive bag in this vacuum cleaner fairly often. Unfortunately, mine broke down before I even needed a new set of bags. It may be just bad luck, but I have had problems with another DeLonghi product in the past.
The only advantage I see in this vaccum cleaner is its light weight and ability to get into some hard to reach places. On the other hand, you can just as well use the attachments in your regular vacuum cleaner for those cleaning jobs and also enjoy the benefit of the excersise.

Great electric broom,

I own an earlier version of this machine (w/o the final X in the model number) and have been very pleased with it. It is well engineered (I bought it to replace one that blew the exhaust downward, blowing away dust and dirt before you could get to it!), light weight, and easy to maneuver, and is excellent for quick pickups on bare floors or low-pile rugs. I like the cord storage (easy to get it off the hooks and into action), and the dust bag replacement is easy. It works like a charm on dog hair, dust bunnies, spilled kitty litter, or crumbs on the floor (or in the bed). You can also remove the brush and use the bare nozzle to dust the tops of baseboards, etc.
As an electric broom, I'd give it 4 or 5 stars. But it should not be mistaken for a general purpose vacuum cleaner. It is a very satisfactory secondary tool.

this item was impossible to use. I have hardwood & tile floors, with very low area rugs. you cannot touch the rugs or the lint strips will come off, this was the worst vacuum I have ever used and am very upset that I have to pay return fees because the item wasn't properly decribed and no picture of under carriage was shown. I would recommend dirt devil swifter vac over this any day and costs less.

This is waste of $24.99. I guess I will add it to my junk pile. It's not worth the shipping price to send it back.

Perfect vacuum for floors!,

I was looking for a replacement for my hand-held vacuum and found this Delonghi by accident. The reviews I read were terrible, but I figured I'd try it anyway because I love Delonghi products. It is true that this vacuum really stinks on rugs and soft surfaces, but you can't beat it for wood and tile floors, which is what I use it for at least once a day. It fits into corners, tight spaces, and all the other areas I had a hard time reaching, and it has plenty of suction. I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't need to use it on rugs or carpeted surfaces.

This vacuum cleaner does not work at all! The sticky stuff from the bottom of the vacuum came right off the first time I used it. It doesn't even pick up heavy dirt. I had to throw it out since returning it would waste more shipping money.

A Good Piece of Junk Cheap,

If you buy this, don't even think about using it on rugs unless they are less than 1/4 in thick. It does work fairly well on flat surfaces. The pink plastic guards fall off the first time you use it, but don't worry they are useless and the machine will suck them in so there is no mess. It makes a good quickie clean up for flat tiles surfaces, but thats about it.The only reason I didn't send it back was that we have tiled kitchens and baths. It is useful on these surfaces and has a small footprint. It doesn't need recharging and takes up little space. DeLonghi makes good products, but this one should have its intended purpose updated. Thanks.
