4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Product
If you already have a Roady2 , and you're looking for a portable solution, you will like this product. It does everything it says it does. It is very heavy, though, and I wouldn't recommend it for jogging. I use it at my gym when I'm on the treadmill, and for this purpose it works well. If you haven't purchased a Roady2, you might as well get the Myfi. It's a lot more...

3.0 out of 5 stars Heavy
Just a quick warning, this thing is heavy. The battery pack is a lot of weight. Go to the store and pick it up in your hands to feel for sure. For the price of this and the Roady2, you might as well get the portable unit to begin with.

It's a lot more expensive but when you add up the cost of the Roady2 and the Delphi Personal Audio System, you'll end up spending the same amount of money. Overall, it's good but not great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gread Signal , Bad Case Design (Better than MyFi), May 16, 2005
This review is from: Delphi SA10109 Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio System (Electronics)
Great Signal (better than a MyFi XM2Go ) because the XM antenna is on the top of the headphones . Even in the woods fair Signal some cutouts. But poor Case design VERY hard to get out of The dock to use in your car.

Pros. Great signal (with NO repeaters)
FM Radio As a backup (but unless your underground
You'll have good signal)

Cons. VERY BAD CASE DESIGN feels cheep , very hard to remove
Roady 2 from The Personal Audio System.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this hunk of junk, February 23, 2005
This review is from: Delphi SA10109 Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio System (Electronics)
This system has several things wrong with it. For starters is the price, way to high for such a low quality product. The Roady's signal is constintly being lost, even when staying almost completly still. For a product made for people on the move, this product simply doesn't work. On top of the bad reception, the system is frail. Mine broke the first day, while trying to remove the Roady from it.
also, while the roady is plugged into it, you can not use the Roadies FM transmitter, to play your music where you take it.
I do not recomend this product for anyone, unless you thibnk you can get a good deal on it. I thought I was at the time, but wasted my money, perhaps I can save someone else's money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worked as advertised for me, December 13, 2005
This review is from: Delphi SA10109 Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio System (Electronics)
First off, I am going to be a little more forgiving of this item because I was able to purchase it for $39.00 on closeout.

For the price I paid this unit is outstanding. I have not ran into the problems of getting the Roady in and out that others have experienced. It seems to be a fairly easy process of pressing in on two latches and pulling the case apart. I was very concerned after reading the reviews here that this would be an issue. But I have been able to get the Roady out each and ever time in a few seconds. The Roady does fit snuggly inside the case but I would rather have this than the Roady falling out in my hand.

The case could be made of a little more sturdy plastic, but this would also add to the weight. The case and Roady together weigh about as much a portable CD player. Most of the weight can be attributed to the battery.

As far as reception goes I have been able to get a strong signal short of standing in a six foot hole. I purchased the portable player because I have several hundred acres of land to attend to, and it helps me keep my sanity. I have not ran into an area where the signal drops out on me as of this time.

The headset is not exactly top of the line....but what are you to do? You can't exactly buy a set of Bose headphones and tear the antenna out of included set. So....your stuck for the moment with what comes with in the package.

For the price I paid I can't complain other than the headset. I personaly have not ran into the problems of getting the Roady out of the case to put in my car. The reception is great I can get a signal when my friend with a XM2Go can't.

Its a nice setup but not for $120.00 or so dollars...if it can be found for under 50.00 get it.....you wont regret it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to your Roady 2, July 15, 2006
I have a Roady 2 which was in the car, but now is mostly at home on a home conversion kit. But I hate cranking up the XM radio to hear it upstairs or when I am running all around the house.

This is a special headphone set with a built in XM antenna. As long as you are in range of the southern sky, where the XM satellite lives, you can pick up wonderful XM broadcasts.

The unit consists of a cassette that holds the Roady 2. It charges up a battery and you attach the special headphones that bring in the signal. The battery lasts in my use about 4-8 hours of continuous play.

The unit is a tad heavy compared to a cd player or tape player portable and a LOT heavier than a MP3 but you get your XM radio nearly anywhere.

Will not work in a shielded building or too far away from a window where you can get the satellite feed.

2.0 out of 5 stars It works as promised, but not worth the money, December 14, 2005
This review is from: Delphi SA10109 Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio System (Electronics)
Being a huge fan of XM, I was excited when I saw this product. Sure it looked bulky, but I wasn't going to be moving around much while I used it, and I was going to use it only outside. The first unit I received worked fine, but the volume/FM frequency selector "toggle" snapped off within the first few hours, leaving me unable to adjust either. This appeared to be a design flaw, and as such I promptly returned it without incident. I did get a second one and am mindful of this toggle switch. I do note that even with careful use, the headphones age very quickly, and I do not think they will last too long. The bottom line is that the product works as advertised, but does so at great expense, bulk, and does not appear to be durable. If you can get a much lower price, go for it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this item, April 11, 2005
In theory, this is a great idea. However, once I purchased it and tried it at home, I was severely disappointed. The bottom line is that the reception is awful, unless you in an open field. The antenna in the headphones is not adequate, and I found that it was next to useless indoors. Unless you are right next to a window, the signal is very intermittent. Maybe Delphi will put out a better unit in the future. Both this and the docking station seem to be great ideas that are not very good quality items.

3.0 out of 5 stars I'm glad I found it for $50..., December 21, 2005

..because I wouldn't dream of paying $150. The case is a bit bulky, but it's a good cost effective personal XM Radio alternative.
