If youre ready to step up to a cabinet saw, walk this way. Deltas 732 is powerful, smooth, precise and steady as a rock.
Theres a 3-HP induction motor inside this closed cabinet that spins the blade at 4000 rpm, and it starts and runs like a dream, whether youre ripping 1/4-inch ply or eight-quarter oak, without whining or bogging down. With the blade fully raised, you can cut a maximum depth of 3 inches and make dadoes up to 15/16 inches wide, perfect for the professional or home woodworkers needs.
What we like best about this saw (aside from its monstrous power, of course) are the quality details youll see on a high-end tool like Deltas Unisaw, but not necessarily on a saw in this price range. First, it comes with a 50-inch Biesemeyer fence, giving you enormous rip to the right of the blade and the absolute accuracy Biesemeyers known for. The cast iron table is smooth and flat, and with a coat of paste wax on it, its like glass. The left sides corners are rounded off, something youll appreciate if your hip has ever caught a table saws corner before (ouch!). The front edge of the table has a gentle bevel on it, and while that doesnt sound like an important detail, it really makes a difference when youre using the miter gauge. The gauge itself rides in a T-slot, and when extended, we measured a full foot of space in front of the blade.
At 500 pounds, this saws rock solid, and theres simply no vibration at all. Theres a standard dust port on back of the cabinet, and its easy enough to open the enclosure should you need to sweep out the sawdust. If theres anything we dont like about this saw, it would have to be the square throat plate, simply because its unusual, and any youve bought or made for your old saw wont fit on this one. Aside from that, its a gorgeous piece of machinery at a great price.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste
