4.0 out of 5 stars Solid piece of furniture that will last your child years.
The 4 in 1 design is actually three configurations with the daybed and toddler bed being the same setup. This design has been around for years but was new to me. I am more familiar with the "jail cell" like cribs designed in the early to mid 1970's and was pleasantly surprised to find this for our son.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad experience
This crib was delivered to me 3 times defected. It's very bad for business, I just had a newborn and I needed a crib. Imagine trying to get this 70 lbs package open and re-package and carry out outside 3 times. You guys should stop doing business with this company because it's costing you customers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid piece of furniture that will last your child years., May 20, 2009
This review is from: Delta Canton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib, Cherry (Baby Product)
The 4 in 1 design is actually three configurations with the daybed and toddler bed being the same setup. This design has been around for years but was new to me. I am more familiar with the "jail cell" like cribs designed in the early to mid 1970's and was pleasantly surprised to find this for our son.

The piece is made from solid hardwood with a cherry finish, no MDF or particle board, and after a few years use, if it gets scratched up, then refinishing the wood would not be a major project. The crib mattress support is metal tubing that appears to have a hard rust preventative finish.

The design is solid and would take an adult making an effort to tip it, even in the daybed configuration. Yet it does not weigh so much that one person can not move it around, by sliding it, to vacuum or clean the carpet.

I only noticed three items I can criticize:

The counter sunk screws used to assemble the crib did not come with wood plugs to cover the screw heads, although flush or button plugs can be purchased at most hardware stores and stained to match. I do not recommend flush fitting ones since they will need to be removed later.

The hex key wrench that was supplied with the assembly hardware does not fit within all spots; the use of a standard hex key with a short side is required.

The sideboards needed for converting it into the full sized bed is sold separately; however, most metal bed frames will allow enough play in the end mounts that the sideboards would not be required; provided it has mounts at both the head and foot. Also if a bed skirt is used the sideboards would not normally show, so they could be considered optional.

This is an excellent buy for the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken pieces with no reasonable resolution, November 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received this crib yesterday. I was so excited that my son (9 years old) and I put it together. I do have to admit that the directions are easy to follow. My husband is out of town on business a lot and if a 7 month pregnant lady and a 9 year old can put it together...there is hope for anyone. However, the last steps of putting this crib together is sliding on the front and back rails..both of which were broken!! we had already put the the entire crib together when we got to put on the front and back rails and there are pieces of wood falling off!! I wish I were joking. Thank goodness I do not have the baby yet or I would be out of a crib or in a potentially dangerous situation where my child could be eating wood. All I wanted was to have the company send me two new rails...the solution they gave was to have me disassemble the entire crib, repackage it and send it back to them via UPS. THEN they would send me a new one. All I wanted was two new rails!! I dont think my 9 year old is up for a disassembling project especially with an allen wrench. Ridiculous that you can pay good money for a crib, have it come falling apart and the only solution is for you to send it back when you could barely lift the pieces to begin with...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great buy!, September 9, 2009
This review is from: Delta Canton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib, Cherry (Baby Product)
This has survived my 2 year old son & still looks great! Everything about the durability & portability written about in the previous review is correct. I have disassembled & assembled many times because I can't decide which room I want to keep it in & it's just as solid every time. It's strong too! I've laid down several times with my son & did no harm to the frame.

One thing I will caution, and not so much caution just be prepared for...the one thing that did not survive my child are the bed rails for the toddler bed setup. He found them fun to stand on...

Other than that I have recommended this crib several times in the last 2.5 years

1.0 out of 5 stars Delta Children's Products Customer Service, August 30, 2010
By
I have a Delta Jasmine crib, which my 15 month old toddler bit a piece of wood off of the side of the crib. I contacted Delta's customer service department and they were not willing to do anything about the damage. I spoke with a customer service rep, as well as his supervisor. They were very rude, telling me that it's my fault for not having teething rails on the bed. Even after I explained this was on the side rail and the first bite she took, a piece of wood came off of the crib into her mouth. Fortunately an adult was there and was able to get the wood out of her mouth. The supervisor hung up on me after I asked to speak with his boss. It's really sad that Delta does not back up their products or care about the consumers that keep them in business.

This review is to let consumers considering a Delta crib to know if anything does go wrong with the crib to not expect Delta to do anything about it. I have filed a report with the CPSC, so hopefully they can help with the wood issue. It'd be terrible for a toddler to bite off a piece of wood and something serious happen.....

1.0 out of 5 stars WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!, April 23, 2010
By
Mother of 2 (Brooklyn, NY United States) - See all my reviews
I must say this company by far has the worst customer service ever. I called to place and order for a part and for pegs because my crib was RECALLED. I was told to wait two weeks for delivery. I did and no part. I called back to find that they had entered my credit card info incorrectly. Therefore my order was NEVER placed. NO ONE EVER contacted me to let me know this and the rep said they usually dont know until a cust called that there was a problem...way to do business. I was then told that the part would be reordered and shipped within a week. still no part...called back to be told that the order was not sent out second day and that i would recieve the part within a week. I got my package today with only part of the order. I am so disappointed in this company. Calling this company is so stressful the hold times are forever. Return call almost never happens. They only have 9-5 mon-fri hours so if you work you can forget about ever getting in touch with anyone. I REGRET owning this a crib from this company. I am so STRESSED!!! No mom should have to go through this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, February 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This crib is really beautiful. I was looking for an "oak" crib, but they are really hard to come by! This one is called "honey" and although it's a little lighter than I really wanted, it does look like a lighter oak and even has a little bit of a 'grain' in it. It was very easy to put together (took about 45 minutes)--always a bonus! Everything fit together perfectly with one small exception. The two bars for the front & back of the crib didn't quite line up 'flush' with the sides, but it's close enough that I didn't want to mess with the hassle of sending it back. It arrived in excellent conditions and even though the box had a large hole in it(!) upon delivery, it was packaged well enough that there were no scratches or dents anywhere on it! Whew! I would also caution that bumper pads are a little challenging to get on it with the wider corner pieces, but it does work. The fit is just not quite as ideal as it would have been on a traditional crib. Also, the crib sits so low to the ground that you can hardly see a crib "skirt", so you may not even want to bother with one. Finally, you will have to buy special "teether" protectors if you don't want your child to scratch &/or bite chunks out of the front & side rails! Traditional plastic teethers don't work for this sleigh style crib for obvious reasons, but you can purchase ones from Babies 'R Us and other places (OR, like us, you can just copycat them and make your own for a whole lot cheaper!). :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for My Son!, January 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a very elegant, beautiful and sturdy piece of baby furniture. It came with every piece in my single shipment. I do see one scratch on it but its ok. It's also quite roomie. My son plays in it sometimes when I need to work and it's large enough for him to move around lots. The only complaint I have is that the front frame is kinda low. I'm afraid about how easy my son may be able to climb over in the future when he's a little bigger.

Overal I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy But Severly Scratched!!!, February 6, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this crib and paid extra to receive in a few days. The crib came a day early however the rails were COMPLETELY SCRATCHED up. I saw the same crib at target however the shipping was extremely high. I should have just ordered it there and paid extra. This crib looked like my 7 year old daughter painted it. If you are ordering this crib, I recommend you order from [...] and not Amazon. My husband works for the Sherwin-Williams company and can touch up the paint, but I recommend you order this product elsewhere or order something else. It is also very large, which is nice if you have the space for it. I hate returning things and my son was in need of a crib otherwise I would have returned this and went somewhere else to shop. Very disappointed in Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very well built, October 16, 2009
I purchased this Item. From Target. did not know it was available on AMAZON or I would have gone that route. anyhow it is great! I have no issues as the previous poster. Maybe they just got unlucky...Again don't expect Thomasville quality for $250...WE figured we would hand down the thomasville furniture to the kids once they are adults and this crib will go in the disposal once it's useful life is gone..
