I have a garage full of bikes and I needed some organization badly. I saw this rack during a search on Amazon and it looked like just what I needed. When it arrived I was immediately impressed by the materials and construction : it is very well made and the pieces feel substantial. All the fasteners are allen heads which is a quality touch. The quality was such that I thought it must be made in the USA ! But alas, after searching the packaging carefully, I found the elusive "made in China" sticker. Oh well, what isn't made in China?

Assembly went well and all the parts went together without much struggle. Follow the tip in the instructions to leave all fasteners "loose" until assembly is complete. When I got it together and tightened all fasteners snugly I hung 4 bikes on it and it is very stable. I have to say I am very satisfied with this product and feel comfortable in recommending it to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delta Cezanne performs well, March 13, 2006
This review is from: Delta Cezanne 4-Bike/Multi-Use Storage Rack (Sports)
Easy to assemble and solidly built. Small point, the description said it holds 6 bikes but it only came with hooks for 4.

OK, let me first start by saying on the surface (and in practice) this is a nice rack...Now to the "beware" portion...I bought this new, on sale, at Amazon...product arrived and had obviously been opened/put together before. The zip-ties were cut and laying loose in the box, Some of the components were already partially assembled, The baskets/trays were bent, poles had paint scratched off, and one piece was wedged inside a pole forcing me to use vice-grips to get it out (likely why the previous person returned it)...So, aside from those annoyances, I wanted the rack and didn't want to wait for a replacement/deal w/ the hassle of boxing it up again/etc. (and the things gonna get scratched/bent anyway)...so assembly was fairly straight-forward...As long as you follow the one part of the instructions that state to not tighten anything until you've gotten it fully assembled...I surmise this is because the person/team who designed this likely slept through the part of mechanical design class where they teach the concept and importance of stack up tolerances...nothing lines up w/o some finessing (minimal at first, much more towards the end)...and the hole for the top cross bar was off by a good 1/2"...which leaves a nice rotational aspect to the overall stand when you finally get to tighten everything up...Additionally, the unit I received differed from the unit pictured (hooks were different in style and the manner in which they are attached/installed, and resulted in my having to take a portion of the rack apart to put them on (not the ones for the bikes, but the other, smaller ones for hanging other items), as they must go on as you build it up, not after the fact (I'll take the blame on that one, as I should have known better))...also, specs on the site state dimensions are 19" x 27" x 82"....In reality, it is actually 22" x 29 1/2" x 88 1/2", making it too tall for the place I had originally planned for it to go (the width and depth dimensions are taken at the base, where the legs flare out...if you take them further up, they may be the same as listed in the specs)...Another nit is that the bikes go onto the narrow side of the rack...unfortunately, w/ today's full suspension bikes and other creative geometries, the uprights where the hooks are located are spaced too wide to fit some bike frames and you're left w/ finding creative approaches for the hooks (even rotating them inwards doesn't do the job on some bikes)...two bikes have the hook under the front of the saddle as opposed to the frame, which isn't the best place for long term storage...a better design would have been to make the stand slightly narrower allowing for better frame placement, but understandably it might make the overall unit "tippy" when adding/removing bikes...In "concept" I give the rack a 5...in "reality" I give it a 1 (due to the condition upon arrival, differences between what is pictured, poor design tolerances, and grossly inaccurate dimensions)...averaging out to my 3 star rating, as it will still prove to be a somewhat convenient method of getting the bikes out of the way...There are likely better options out there, but this seemed the most compact w/ greatest capacity for my 4 bikes and my wifes 2...

I really like this storage rack. Cost versus function is quite high. It now provides a place for our 4 bicycles plus associated gear...no more scrambling around locating all the necessary equipment for a ride on either the trail or road! It doesn't have room for every piece of sports gear we own, of course, but seasonal adjustments puts everything we need within reach.

3.0 out of 5 stars room for improvement, August 7, 2006

At first I was pleased with the quality, finish and heft of this unit. However during assembly, it was apparent the the manufacturer cut corners. The screws which tighten the hooks that hold the bikes are so short that they do not reach the threads opposite. There is no manufacturer phone number, e-mail or web site information anywhere in or on the packaging. I had to make a trip to the hardware store to replace the 8 screws. I wanted this unit to save garage space for my 4 bikes. This unit actually uses more space because it is so tall.

For the price, this is a very nice storage rack. It was easy to put together and relatively sturdy. I would advise you not to place it on carpet directly. Use something more sturdy like tile or carpet coasters.

The only negative would be that the hooks slide down the poles to easily when removing your bike from the rack.

You would think by looking at this that it isn't sturdy because it's so tall and narrow. But I have had up to 4 bikes on this thing and it stays put just fine. Loading and unloading doesn't cause me any concerns at all. The fit and finish is good. Installation was very easy. Took maybe 30 minutes at most. It doesn't take up too much space either. I also keep other things on it like snowboards, and winter clothes hung along the rail. Perhaps my only complaint is that the hooks move too easily when trying to load my bikes. But once it's on, it'll stay. I got these a lot cheaper than it's selling for now, but knowing what I know now about the product, I may still pay the current price for this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars good stuff, January 3, 2009
This review is from: Delta Cezanne 4-Bike/Multi-Use Storage Rack (Sports)
This storage rack allows for four bikes easily, with skates, shoes, skis, and a few odds and ends to boot. It has consolidated our garage sporting goods, and has served well as a place to keep things throughout the winter. It is a little bulky, so it takes up more room in the garage than I anticipated, but the benefit substantially outweighs this nominal inconvenience.

This is an easy to assemble rack that will hold 4 bikes in addition to skis or snowboards. It will free up garage or storage area. Top and side hangers for helmets, backpacks or whatever. Very happy with the rack.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly the storage I was looking for, November 10, 2011

I have a one bedroom apt and three bikes - you do the math. Since the unit is free standing, it provides the flexibility of moving to wherever, if needed. Bikes are no small item to store, so the entire assemblage is rather daunting in a room, but functionally, it's great. The red rubber S-hooks have to be maneuvered in the exact place to support the bikes properly so you're not pulling on break/gear cables - and each bike mounts differently because of size - but no biggie. just be mindful. the smaller extra S-hooks hold my roller blades, camel backs, tennis racquets and various other hanging items. However, the shelves are the added bonus and this is what sold me on this unit over others that I looked at. Convenience! All my sports equipment is in one place and the best part - no tires have to touch the floors anymore. Everything is up and away. Took about 45 min to put together. it suggests two ppl, I did it myself. easy.

Why I didn't give it 5 stars:

one of the four joints at the top did not align properly. Could not get the final screw to go in as the hole was off about 1/4 of an inch. Because it was at the very top, it's not detrimental to the overall support of the rack. But still... quality counts...

Also, I would have preferred the steal tubing to be slightly more dense. If I had all mountain bikes, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Not really a bad thing for me since I have a road bike and two hybrids, but possibly for someone else with heavier bikes.
