Product Description

Outfitted with a sensitive microphone and digital wireless technology, the safe-n-clear digital baby monitor from Delta Children delivers a completely private, crystal-clear connection between baby and caregiver. The wireless parent unit features a generous 800 feet range for hands-free mobility, plus an LED sound indictor light that indicates baby's noise level, so adults never miss a beat, even if they're on the phone, watching a movie or doing chores.

Customer Reviews

The Parent Unit picks this up through the speaker, so we now have white noise in our room.

Plug in the nursery unit and do not try to open it to install batteries because that is not an option.

We were looking for a digital baby monitor because the static issues with our analog monitor were getting rather annoying. Found this one and decided to give it a shot as the reviews looked mostly promising. We ordered the set with two parent units but received a set with one. Figured we'd give it a shot anyway.

Well, the receiver worked for about five minutes.

I turned it on. It seemed fine. I could hear my son chattering to himself as he tried to wind down to sleep, and the white noise in his room was slightly audible. Then I tried to adjust the volume. For some reason, the unit beeps with every single key press! I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea, but spoiler alert: it's not. It's terrible. I knew I was not going to have the patience for that in the middle of the night, so I went to go initiate the Amazon return process. When I came back from my computer, the unit was no longer making any sound. Minutes beforehand, I'd been able to hear the white noise machine in our toddler's room -- now, suddenly, nothing at all. I noticed that the red "link" light was flashing, indicating that the unit had somehow become un-linked... while it was on and running. Obviously that makes me feel less than confident about the product. If it was going to shìt the bed, I'm glad it did so on day one so I didn't waste any more time with it.

Let's say you want a baby monitor and you are not interested or able to get a video or high quality audio set. Here you have the Delta Safe-n-clear Digital Baby Monitor 800ft Range, an affordable yet cheaply constructed system that hopefully will last longer than the baby needs monitoring. Included in the package is the nursery station and AC cable, the adult's station and AC cable, and a manual that is very simply written as far as instructions are concerned.

To pair the units, you first need to power up the adult unit using either the plug or your self provided 3 AAA batteries. Nowhere on the box is printed that batteries are not included and are necessary for ambulatory use. Plug in the nursery unit and do not try to open it to install batteries because that is not an option. Now you are ready to power on and pair them together ...

Hold in the power button on each unit simultaneously for 3 seconds. The nursery unit has a green light appear and the adult unit has a green flashing light and a red flashing light. If the red flashing light continues, the units are not paired together and you must power them off and then try again. That means holding in the buttons for 3 seconds, but in my case where the adult unit would not turn off, I had to unplug it to proceed. When paired, move the adult unit or you will likely get feedback.

Each time I push the power button on the adult unit (nursery unit has no buttons other than power), it gets stuck and I have to dig it out. I do not like this at all.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Overall this is a good monitor. It is lightweight, has a wireless parental unit, and decent sound quality. Unlike some other monitors, there did not seem to be any cell phone interference with the unit. It would be nice if the nursery unit were also wireless, but that's not too big of a deal. I only gave it four start because there were no instructions on linking the parental unit to the nursery unit. We were able to figure it out, but other people may have trouble with that.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This day and age I much prefer video monitors, which are very affordable and just make sense for keeping your baby safe. I got this monitor for traveling so I wouldn't have to take the video monitor down off its perch in our kids room and unravel all of the wires. This is a good travel option as it's quite small and offers a good signal range, though no range is ever accurate. It always will depend on what type of walls and interference is in your house.

The Delta Children's Safe-N-Clear monitor comes with:

- Parent Unit
- Nursery Unit
- Instructions
- Adapters

Parent Unit runs on batteries (3 AAA Batteries, not included) or power adapter (not a rechargeable lithium ion battery like most units) -- if it's unplugged and there are no batteries, it won't work. Once you plug the Nursery Unit in (only works with power adapter) you need only press the power button for about 5 seconds; they are automatically paired. LED lights indicate sound, and parent can hear baby talking. Power button and volume up and down are the only options. This is not a speaker system, you cannot talk to your child or vice versa. Battery light indicator and audible beeping when the battery is low.

Overall Impression: the price here matches the product. It's very light (read: cheap quality), which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It works, and that counts for a lot. Sound quality is very clear. The only issue we have, is we keep a sound machine running through naps and bedtime. The Parent Unit picks this up through the speaker, so we now have white noise in our room. The LED indicator also picks this up, since it's quite sensitive. It doesn't show flashing lights all the time, but about every few seconds the lights dance up the indicator and goes away.
