Great air horn, this is the same horn as the AirZound, I hesitated when I saw the blue instead of red color, but they are the same manufacturer and same loud sound! From arms length aimed at yourself if will make your ears ring, if not you are already deaf! I have used one on both of my bicycles for over 5 years, and now have two more, one for my sailboat and one for my wife's motor-scooter. I use a bicycle pump with a gauge to pump them up to 80 psi and that gives me about 30 - 40 1/2 second blasts which is enough to make people jump out of the way of my bike. Even idiots in cars, with the windows up, turn their heads and look, instead of running me over, since it's louder than any car horn.
The air pump sold with the horn fills the unit up nicely with about one pump per blast I figure, and it doubles as a tire pump, you can't beat that. I highly recommend these, they are durable, light weight and offer the security of getting someones attention while biking, it has saved my skin several times already.

I was lead to believe that the horn would have about 40 blasts. I use it 3 short times and need to refill it. That's very difficult to do when you have games with quarters or you are trying to keep stats and run the clock at the same time. I so wanted to go green but I can't get this horn to hold enough air to make it practical enough. It also is very cumbersome to hold the bottle, place on the pump, pump it, etc. but I do have smaller hands. If you are used to a loud horn or need for the sound to travel a distance this is not for you. It is a softer horn good when you are overseeing just a couple of very close fields.

If you want to get noticed on the lake or in a crowd... this baby is great. Inexpensive compared to canister air units and reusable..Green friendly. Comes with a little pump..like a bike tire pump...pressurize it the plastic bottle fills with air...has a shutoff..I have used it a year later and it was still pressurized....LOUD!! But it is made of soft walled plastic.. so take care to keep it away from sharp thangs. It's a good item.

The reason you are looking at this product, is the same reason why you should purchase it: It can be recharged manually at any time. I have used the hand pump, and a portable car pump with pressure gauge. This has the same volume as any other can-of-air airhorn, with the huge benefit of being re-usable again and again, and again. This is such an ingenious design and has paid for itself over and over again.

I bought this for my husband who is an avid biker. He loved it. It's very loud, and he thinks it should scare away dogs. And he loves the fact that it is rechargeable. I'm not sure but I think he gets 25 good blasts with it before it needs recharging. And I thought the price was great. Usually his equipment is much more expensive.
