Not as BAD as they say; but no too GOOD either.,
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Delta Force Black Hawk Down (Video Game)
While everybody is complaining about the single player mode, I find it quite decent. The missions are exactly like the PC version. Graphics is upgraded a bit but not as nice as the really good shooters for the PS2. The game is a good blend of sniping and close quarters battle with lots of targets to shoot at. It also has some points where you mount machine guns on Blackhawks and Humvee's. Problem is, sniping was fun in the PC because of the mouse interface but this time it may be a bit harder (some people might not like this).
What's new now (compared to the PC version) is that you can command your squad mates. No more health packs and extra ammo packs lying around the map. This time, you must call your squad mates to heal you or give you ammo. If they die, the less times you can heal and replenish your ammo. Also new is the upgrade system. You can upgrade skills and weapons through 'stars' that you earn through missions. Better performance gives you more 'stars'. And it's not that easy to execute a perfect mission. I guess what sets this game apart from the others is the vast environment. I don't care if they say that the buildings are blocky and repititive and the textures are bland. I like the fact that the maps are really large. Pros: Same gameplay from the PC version. Large maps. Upgrade system. Squad commands (not as good as Brothers in Arms but a welcome addition to the series) Cons: Dated graphics (better than the PC version but not at par). Long range firefights are more difficult compared to the mouse-controlled PC version. Nothing really uniqe and revolutionary in this game that will definitely set it apart from the rest. I guess people give this a low rating because they expected so much from the game. By far, I think this game is just AVERAGE.

Combat Based,

Some of these gamers think this game was just for shoot'em up action, well in some aspects it is. The other part is it also makes you utilize all of your resources to accomplish the mission. There is no medit packs just your comrades to help you get you back on your feet. There is no "power ups" or ammo caches. There you have to use your battle buddies and they will give you some of their ammo so you can keep killing throughout the game. I think some people are just judging this game like its DOOM or something, dont do that. It just gives you at least somewhat of the aspect that once your in COMBAT your soldiers is the only thing that will keep you alive. But after said that. I too did accomplish the missions in a day but it didnt matter to me. I also liked the weaponry and the Blackhawk rides shooting n moving that was pretty cool. At times i did get a little impatient and my teammates killed more than i did but hey if they seem them before me Kudos to them I hope this kinda helped you out on understanding the concept of this game.

WOOOOOOOOOOOW this game is amazing. The game features parts from the movie including the best part code Irene when all the Black Hawks and LT Little Birds choppers which your in take off to raid a city. You'll enjoy this game no doubt about it. You can also ask your team for health and ammo. You'll abousolutley love this game.
