5.0 out of 5 stars Best Delta Force game yet
The Delta Force series of games have been one of my favorites over the last few years, and I have gotten most of my friends and co-workers hooked on it as well. 3.0 out of 5 stars Better graphics, but same problems.
I just bought this game today and wanted to throw in my two cents worth. I have several comments and criticisms, but I'll keep it short for the sake of space. The graphics are 20 times better than the first two. The only thing is, there are still several of the same limitations on the playability that have plagued the first two games as well. Ammo for one thing. if you...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Delta Force game yet, November 16, 2000
This review is from: Delta Force Land Warrior (CD-ROM)
The Delta Force series of games have been one of my favorites over the last few years, and I have gotten most of my friends and co-workers hooked on it as well. Delta Force 3 has a lot of exotic locations to roam around in, an example of this are the great pyramids at Giza. The graphics have been improved quite a bit, and if you have the computer and graphics card to handle them, it will look awesome. I think the best part of Novalogic games is their online environment Novaworld. This is a great game to play against other people all over the world. You can play against tons of other people at the same time, it makes this game that much better. If you have never played Delta Force I would try out the demo of this first, cause this seems to be a game which people either love or hate, but I love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delta Force Land Warrior, September 8, 2000

I have only played the demo but the 3D graphics on the game blow away the 1st and 2nd game. Its totally different also like the characters have their own moves and specialties. The only problem I see is people having problems running this game on their computers due to there was alot of problems with the 1st and 2nd. Overall this game is the one to buy and is well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shooter game!!, December 10, 2000

I really didn't like Delta Force and Delta Force 2.

When I heard that Novalogic was coming out with Delta Force: Land Warrior, I was thinking, ha, who would be dumb enough to buy it. Well, about 2 months before the game came out, they released a demo and I was really impressed. The gameplay is excellent, the weapons are great (and there's plenty of them!!). I even tried the Multiplayer and it's fun to play it against real people.

Sure it's not as "tactical" as Rogue Spear, but it's just fun to play it's a great wau tp have fun and there are very little (if any) bugs in the program.

I recommend this title for you to buy.

Just finished the Demo downloadable from Gamespot.com. Most impressive. New weapons system as per the Land Warrior system the Army is developing, hence the title for the game. Voxel system is finally perfected, and the AI opponents are much smarter. Looks like a great culmination of the DF series.

This game isn't out yet, but it looks so beautiful. The graphics are gorgeous, detailed to the last wrinkle in the uniforms. If there was a spot of mustard on someone's shirt, you could see it. The plot is the best that Delta Force has ever seen. This game is wonderfully put together. Definitly a must buy.

Everyone who gave this game high marks is right on the money. Here is my opinion (I don't play online so this review refers to single player only)

I've enjoyed playing all three Delta Force games but this one is the best. I have played the single player missions about 4 times now and they are still fun.

Unlike alot of shooters, heavy emphasis is placed on using your brain and not your gun. Running into a situation "John Woo" style not only will get you killed but also can cause a player to instantly fail the mission even if they survive. Covering for your squadmates, accurate shooting and quiet takedowns are essential skills that players must master in this game. There is also no "standard method" of completing a mission. You are dropped into the battle area with a list of objectives and your gear, how you proceed from there is up to you. The user interface is very easy to learn (1 minute) and configure.

The most remarkable thing about this game is the player's ability to perform ultra-long range attacks while still being able to engage in close quarter indoor battles, during the same mission. You can take out a target (and vice versa) while its barely visible in the distance! Just like in the previous versions of Delta Force, players can choose from a wide assortment of weapons. Land Warrior has even more weapons in the arsenal and you can play as one of five different characters, each with a different specialty.

The only negatives: I wish my squadmates were smarter, they sometimes run right into a fire fight disregarding their own safety and common sense. The enemy AI, although good, could be better. Tech support for this game could be better too. I downloaded a patch for this game (it runs fine on my machine, I was just being thorough) but it keeps blowing up. But these negatives should'nt deter one from buying this game. Get it, its good!

5.0 out of 5 stars DF3 should be good, November 1, 2000

The main problem that has plagued the Delta Force series are the cheaters in the Multiplayer portion of the game. Novalogic has proposed plans to place a $5/month fee to stop cheaters from playing on Novalogics new server, NovaWorld2. I would gladly pay that small amount per month to have so much fun which I have already enjoyed in DF1 and DF2. About the Demo, it runs smooth on my p3 500, 32meg 3d card at 800X600, both on the large desert fields and inside the vast and highly detailed Pyramid (not a difference in frame-rate on my computer, major plus). If this demo is an indication of the final product, it should be great!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Under Appreciated Warrior, November 14, 2001
This review is from: Delta Force Land Warrior (CD-ROM)
Land Warrior is a great game...but many do not take the time to notice it. Sure, it isn't exactly a groundbreaking game in both the gameplay and technical departments, but the time you have with it is priceless. Controlling the game is simple, but has enough options to make you think about what to do within the different mission types. The missions themselves are well-thought out and truly give you the feeling of being an elite special forces member. The only problem with the single player is that it isn't too long, and some of the missions might seem repetitive. However, this is balanced out by Delta Force's true gem in the game: the multiplayer. Never has connecting been so easy. Never will you get error messages or have to wait long periods of time to get connected. It is all plain and simple and fully supported and maintained by Novalogic. You can choose to play Novaworld, Public, or Private games. Novaworld games keep track of your stats and can support up to 50 people. The ranking system is a good way of knowing how well you compare to everyone else. Public and Private games basically can support up to 32 people, although 8 or 16 player games are more common. Regardless, the different game modes, such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Flagball, just to name a few, will deprive you of your sleep and keep you away from work. It is just so much fun!!! I dare say legendary online games like Counterstrike and Unreal Tournament can't lay a finger on it!!! So what are you waiting for? (...) BUY, BUY, BUY!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is one Great game!, May 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Delta Force Land Warrior (CD-ROM)
If you're looking for a fun game, it's here. If you're looking for cool weapons, and awesome scenery, it's here. If you're looking for cool missions, it's in this game. If you're looking for perfection, look elsewhere. This is the first game that I have gotten in the Delta Force series, and I'm having a blast. I only rated this game four stars because they don't have a 4.5 star option. This game has almost every weapon desirable, from long range sniper rifles to silenced automatic machine guns to underwater weapons. It has missions ranging from killing an assassinator meeting up with a drug lord, to boarding an oil rig at night and wiping out the bad guys. (That oil rig mission is simply awesome!) However, nothing can be perfect. The worst problem is the enemy intelligence. Pitiful comes to mind. It is much to easy even on hard. You can walk into a room and (usually) have to aim for a head-shot without the terrorist shooting at you (or even looking at you, in some cases) Also, there are a couple of glitches, but not bad. The first time I played, I climbed down a ladder and was confronted by a terrorist on the other side. Both of us, however, could not shoot through the ladder. Don't be fooled, though. This is one great game! There are five different characters to play with, each with different specialties. I don't know which is my favorite, "Longbow," a sniper, or "Mako," who is a swimmer and likes the OICW weapon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better graphics, but same problems., August 13, 2001
This review is from: Delta Force Land Warrior (CD-ROM)
I just bought this game today and wanted to throw in my two cents worth. I have several comments and criticisms, but I'll keep it short for the sake of space. The graphics are 20 times better than the first two. The only thing is, there are still several of the same limitations on the playability that have plagued the first two games as well. Ammo for one thing. if you run out you're screwed since you can't pick any up from the people you've killed in the game. Also often times when you get to the end of a mission it seems like you're just stuck with dead time and no way to end the mission. One of my biggest annoyances with the first two Delta Force games has carried over into this game as well. The AI is horrible. Now realistically, if you are sniping an enemy camp, what are the chances 20 soldiers will be able to lock onto you instantly. Well, that's what happens in all three Delta Force games, you fire one shot from where you are hiding and no matter how well you've hidden yourself, you have everybody in the camp firing straight at you. It takes the reality and a lot of the fun out of the game. Overall a great game graphically except for the weapons, which look like they don't belong in the picture at all, but needs a ton of work on the AI. The Delta Force games have all had the potential to be outstanding games, but unfortunately for us gamers, the programmers haven't taken advantage of it.
