I've been a huge Novalogic fan since 1998. But this will be my last Novalogic game unless they get rid of their insane copy protection. In 32 years of gaming I have NEVER seen something this bad. For crying out loud, all I wanted to do was play the game in single player mode!
Here's what I had to do just to make the game run: I installed the game and started it. Then a screen came up with all the options blanked out because it said the game had to be activated online. Well, the computer I was using didn't have an Internet connection and there was no way to activate the game manually. Frustrated, I later installed the game on another PC back home. I once again attempt to activate the game. It won't. It says the game has to be updated first. Fine, I download and install the update. Then I try to activate the game again. Now I'm told I have to first log into my Novaworld account. I already had a Novaworld account, so I dug up it's account name and password. Well, it didn't work. Okay, I'll create a new account. Now the game says I have to exit the game. I exit. Then at the online account creation screen at Novaworld.com a questionnaire pops up and asks if I own any Novalogic games. Well duh! I click "Yes!!!". Then I proceed to fill in the 18 part form, create a character and login name that isn't already used on Novaworld, create a password, type in the case sensitive six digit online verification code found at the bottom of the screen, click the check mark that says "I accept the terms of use.", then I submit the form. Now I'm informed that my account has been rejected because it says my email address is already in their database! So, I request Novaworld e-mail me my "working" password and account name that they have on file. After getting their email I start the game again and type in the working account name and password. I try to activate the game again. Now it says it can't start the game because I need to go to Novaworld.com and enter my 28 digit "Delta Force: Xtreme 2" key code. "Are you kidding?!" So, I exit the game again. I go to the Novaworld website again and then request to change my online account settings. I enter my account and then type in the 28 digit key which I found inside my box. I also find I need to select a "character" online or I won't be able to play the game even in single player mode either. Done! Now I log out of Novaworld and start the game once again and successfully activate it! "Hurray!" Will miracles ever cease?! I then start a single player campaign. Oh, but wait, before the new campaign starts another screen pops up inside the game with a questionnaire and is asking me what my favorite Novalogic game of all time is! "Well, it sure as heck ain't this game!!!" The only good news I can offer is that I was able to get to the third mission before the game crashed. Folks, this is not what I call fun! Do yourself a favor and skip this game and Novalogic for that matter.

like the game so far. Ive been playing Nova games for years. If you like open outdoor shooters with no boundaries then this game is something you should check out. It has a mix of maps for infantry and infantry with vehicles. If your familiar with DFX from some years back I will tell you what I noticed right off the bat. The multiplayer play seems smooth to me, its easier for me to hit targets and while playing the beta you can get a good idea of what Im talking about. The action is very fast, there is no more running around getting shot and then having to run some more. The vehicle spawning really delivers a lot of choices for example spawning into a helicopter and dive bombing on a tank, then popping your chute and dropping a satchel charge on it and escape into the cover of the terrain before blowing the tank sky high. Or spawning into a Blackhawk and firing the miniguns at advancing infantry. Spawn into a tank and help defend your team's position or spawn into a vehicle and run for cover as infantry its really a different experience then what we have seen in the past. This game does have a new community site which for those of us that were used to the old site this has been a large facelift from the ground up. You also can host your own maps, or make your own maps.

I have been a huge fan of the NovaLogic Delta Force and JO games for years. This title however is a rip off and is unfinished.
The game is supposed to ship with 40 maps it has however 7 or 8 on a good day running on the Nova servers, Novalogic claim that 5 different game types x 8 maps = 40 maps in total! At anytime currently you will find less than 80 players online globally. If you are not sure about the game have a look on the Novaworld forums to look how happy the customer base is! Save your money or go and rent "Point Break" either way you will have as much fun! Failing that wait for the game to be $2.00 in a month!

Thanks for the links, I'll be sure to post, and this is what I will post.
Buyer Beware, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. * Horrible graphics * Extremely laggy interface (i've got a Ge Force GTX-295, Doesn't help) * Crappy Maps, all 3 of them. * You will have to pay a monthly fee if you want to play on populated servers. * There's about 50 servers, and about 50 players, and everyone is on their own server. * Vehicles * Shots don't register * Weapons are crap with fake gun sounds * Go buy COD4, and get cod6 MW2 when it comes out. You would be better off taking your 30 dollars and throwing it in the toilet and flushing it away. I bought this game the day it came out, repeatedly I tried to find something enjoyable from the experience, never, I could never enjoy it, it is a horrible game, period. the Single player mode is filled with glitches that let you get to the end of the mission only to never end and never advance to the next level. Now my free monthly membership has run out, and Novaworld wants me to fork over a monthly fee to play a game that has hardly any people playing it, and is a horribly made game in the first place. If you need to play a NovaLogic game, save 20 bucks and go get Delta Force 2, about the only good game this company has ever made, and still more people play it now than they do Delta Force eXtreme2.

Shame on anybody who claims to be a longtime Novalogic player/fan..and rates this game high. This game offers nothing new to the players who already have DFX. All it does is put money into Novalogic's bank account to pay for the upcoming Angle Falls.

Beware of buying this game,as the one I bought will not activate with Novalogic activation code sent with the game.
It will say the code is already being used on another game and give a key code of k023. I have sent many messages to Novaworld to help resolve this issue with no success. On Novaworld's forum there are many people on there with the same problem and as far as I can tell the problem has not been resolved for them either.......

Don't waste your money on this game or Novalogic. I have been a fan for years and it seems the money has gone to their head. Zero tech help with no email replies. Game is a re-hash of the others with only 3 maps and limited online play base. Most servers require a password. The few open servers I experienced a room full of hackers belonging to the same clan. Novalogic does nothing to investigate or comment.
If you want to waste $29.00 give it to me. I will use it to buy another game that is worth playing.

This game is a rehash of the first and joint operations..nothing new here.Novalogic offically now has not made a decent game since blackhawk down. There was never any support as in updates or policing the servers and I doubt there will be for this one.

It wouldn't download, I sent it back to Amazon. They sent me a new one & same problem: wouldn't download. I then got a refund. I don't blame Amazon, but do blame Nova Logic Company for selling a defective product.

I purchased this game via Amazon.com. Fast delivery was excited to get the game. That ended very quickly. Thanks to having to ACTIVATE my game instead of just entering the product keys like games used to be, I am unable to play the game. Why? When attempting to activate my game I signed in with my NovaWorld ID and password. Then I am told I need my CD key to active the product. So far so good. I hit continue and I am told I must go to www.novaworld2.com to add my cd key to my account. I go to the website and login in. I am told my beta copy of Delta Force Xtreme 2 is activated and ready to play. There is no place to activate the full version of the game. I sent Nova Logic an e-mail explaing this about 3 hours ago. Nothing yet. So for now I am a paying customer and can't play. Up until now I have respected Nova Logic and was glad to hear that they were back. Please get your act together Novalogic before you loose more customers including me. I wish I could rate the game but I can't because I can't play it thanks to DRM and NOVALOGIC's implementation of it.
UPDATE: I was able to get the game working after I found out that my Novaworld account that I used to activate the beta version of the game was tied to the game and uselsss for activating other games. I had to create a new account with a new e-mail address. I accessed www.novaworld2.com using my newly created account. Then I got a different screen. I got a screen asking me to enter my CD Code for the following games. DF Xtreme 2 was not among them. So I took a leap of faith and entered the CD key any way. That worked and I was able to ACTIVATE my game via the in-game menu. No thanks to NOVALOGICS tech support which I called and all you get is a recording referring you to their website which has no support for the game. But no you can download the full version so they are making progress. As far as the game play it is very good and very challenging. It is more or less an extension of DF Xtreme with a few goodies added such as selections for widescreen play up to 1080P (awesome) and sound setup for 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 systems. So I will raise my rating to reflect the combination of gameplay and the logistics of trying to activate the game. |
